My Daughter's Letter to Elders!

Well, my daughter decided to write they letter. The foundation for this letter can be found in my previous thread a couple of days ago which can be found at http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=44457&site=3.

She wrote her heart and gave them some good counsel. She was generous and kind in her comments, yet concise and to the point. She answers to her creator, not men. I found out that the elders also asked her grandmother and mother about her sexual conduct before asking her. I find this extremely insulting to say the least! Her letter to them follows.................

    To whom it May Concern:

When my ex husband and I both signed our decree of divorce (see attached
decree) we stated that we were no longer involved with each other and had no
legal ties to one another. I hold no grudges towards him and only wish him
the best. However, I will not admit to "living in sin" for the sake of his
re-marriage. When he made the decision to get baptized last year and
dedicate himself to Jehovah he did not need my permission then, nor does he
need it now. Please refer to Acts 2:38 which states, "Repent, and let each
one of you get baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your
sins". This statement was said to the Jews after involvement with the death
of Christ. This was to show evidence that they were putting their faith in
Christ, and by doing this their sins could be forgiven. So, I am unclear as
to why you are requesting a letter from me (or my family) giving him
permission to remarry when he has already, "washed away his sins" by
    baptism.

I would also like to add that because of your request for this letter one
can only think that there has been a fair share of gossip spoken in my name.
Proverbs 16:27 states, " A good for nothing man is digging up what is bad,
and upon his lips there is, as it were, a scorching fire". I am disappointed
that there are those who feel the need to continue to talk 6 years following
our separation. In Proverbs 6:16 it also states, "there are six things
Jehovah does hate... a false tongue... [and].. a false witness that launches
forth lies..." are two that come to mind. I do not and will not accept
accusation from those who are assuming false hood in my name.

My grandfather, who I know you all knew very well, was an elder in the
congregation for over 35 years. He shared his knowledge with me in order
that I may become enlightened by the words of Jehovah spoken through his
disciples. I apply those words that were instilled in me to my life to this
day. I do not feel the need to share my private life with those who are
acting in, "The name of God". Jehovah himself knows my actions and he alone
will judge me, "because his judgements are true and righteous... (Revelation
19:2). And, when Judgement day arrives I will have the opportunity of
pouring out my souls because as 1st John 4:17 says, "That we may have
freeness of speech in the day of judgement...". In the future, I can only
advise you to go directly to the source when questioning an individual about
an accusation rather than asking those around you. Remember 1st Timothy 5:19
states, "Do not make accusation against an older man, expect only on the
evidence of two or three witnesses".

He is free to do as he wills but, will not defame my name in the progress.

    (Signed)

This is so good, I really don't know how to respond. I would love to see the elders response to her letter, but as we all know, there ain't going to be an answer. Too bad. Bug

Man, she really put her thoughts together nicely. Good for her! I hope they feel ashamed of themselves after reading it. I doubt they will though...it's more likely they'll be gnashing their teeth being the knuckleheads they are.
