Which Corporation Owns the Buildings?

There has been info on recent threads that the Watchtower is liquidating some assets in Brooklyn and elsewhere.

There are a number of corporations used by the Watchtower. Does anyone know which of those corporations own the buildings in question and would therefore be involved with the sale of these buildings? Is it the Pennsylvania Corporation or the New York Corporation or both?

Is it possible that one of these Corporations is about to go too? Is there a connection between the appointing of new corporation officers a couple of years ago and this seemingly sudden sell?

Just wondering what you all think about this.

Lots of other changes have taken place regarding the 'legal' structure of the WT

Originally the NY Corporation was the legal entity which held property and made contracts etc.

The Pennsylvania Corporation is (was) the overall 'spiritual entity' directing the world wide activities and all other corporations (International Bible Students Association etc)

As the membership of all the legal corporations (who vote and get at least some sight of the accounts) is made up of a select group of those appointed by the GB then it does not matter who owns what as the 'members, will do as they are directed.

With the pending lawsuits it is likely that property / cash and other assets have been transferred to several different new corporations, so that any judgements against the WTBTS of Pennsylvania and the WT Society of New York will be pointless as no funds/assets will have been left with them.

I am not an expert on US or USA State Law but think that the Pennsylvania Corporation can only hold title to property in that state (CO once told me this though it may not be correct), which is why (I understand but again may be wrong) a New York Corporation was established originally.

Looking at the accounts for Britain from the Charities Commission returns it is staggering how much cash is swilling around.

Hi IW and JT,Something that has not been mentioned on this forum that might of been overlooked is the purpose and reason that the G.B.detached themselves from all these corporations.

As I recall and I was there at bethel when this was announced that the reason this was done was so that the G.B. could devote more time to the rank and file giving them much needed spiritual food.

They would be freed up to guide us in new light and direction for the days just ahead of us. I'm still waiting,It's been over two years since they been freed up to give us new spiritual food.

If this had been real food ,we would all be dead from starvation.! What are they doing with all this free time on their hands,besides sleeping more. Blueblades

the gb are held responisble for the dogmas - so they give up thier corp titles with the hope that any legal action can't be taken against the corp- since the new corp technically speaking has NOTHING to do with the dogmas that destoyed our lives, college , dfing, shunning , blood, etc

the wt has been trying very hard to draw a line between the Legal enity that jw use to print things and the actually system of creating dogmas aka gb

will it work, well for years people have been using FRONT COMPANIES they are called, so stand up in court some don't only time will tell if the lawyers built a solid wall that can't be perced

I know you were an Elder and I also understand you are a bethelite? Is this correct?

If so...sorry to be a little stupid on this topic...but...do you personally think any of the money is being used in ways that the R&F would find less than acceptable? Anf if so how?
