Have you allowed yourself to prosper?

The WTS always taught making money was bad, and those who already had it, should not show it off for fear of offending those who didn't have any.

There were so many witnesses that barely made ends meet, again, taught that making money was bad, getting an education was bad, therefore making it hard even with full time work to make a decent wage, enough to support a family.

Since leaving, have you allowed yourself the freedom to explore what is out there, with education, with making money, allowing yourself to prosper in all areas of your life?

Opportunity is out there, to become better people, to make money, live more freely, without the restrictions that the Society put on us. What a relief from the misery of just making enough to get by until "the end."

Since some may view me a tad materialistic, the answer is SURE HAVE.

I have enjoyed traveling more here recently. Seeing things that I only saw on TV. Never traveled much before ya know. Assembly was coming up, then there was the CO visit and oh yea, I'm behind on my time.

Sunday morning motorcyclye riding get's me closer to God than any Kingdom hall.

Did I allow myself to prosper??

Hell I worked at it! Starting about 13 yrs before finally being df'd, I went for the good managers jobs and then bought my own franchise.

It made me happy, but it brought nothing but frowns from the j'dubs. There were a few that it didn't bother. But for the most part what I saw and the rumors I heard and the j'dubs conduct towards me just made my desire to get out all that more important.

I was always maligned for driving a 911 Porche and having a Jeep. I'm only to thankful for all the other things they did not know about. I hated that side of the borg brothers

Pettygrudger hit the nail on the head.

The money didn't just start to flow automatically. I started out with an old car and what few clothes I had. I've slept in my car, slept in a utility room of a friend's apartment next to the water heater, lived on minimum wage, come home to no food for dinner, washed laundry in the bathtub, hitchhiked to work, and one night walked 20 miles home only to get up and manage to get in on time the next morning.

Did I allow myself to prosper? Hell yeah! I pushed myself for 110% and still do. Allow isn't quite the right word though. It didn't just happen, I worked my ass off for what I have now. It may not be as much as some of you make, but it looks like a million bucks to me.
