Something just hit me.

You know how Witnesses love to remind you that the early christian congregations had problems, sometimes even big problems, whenever modern day problems and inconsistancies are brought to their attention?

As much as my gut and heart hate the glibness and triteness of that, it is difficult to argue against.

But I just thought of a key difference. Since 1914, Jesus has been actively reigning as King over the Christian congregation, right? So now what is the excuse?

What have I missed here?

If Jesus is already ruling and we are in some kind of spiritual paradise already then why all the flip-flops over doctrine and cock-ups over procedures?

I think I can answer that one.

It's like this, he came invisibly so we can't really see him nor hear him so until he works out how to be seen and heard in/after armageddon we'll just have to put up.

This is basically the answer I got given when I asked this question.

Interesting. Jesus is ruling, but he can't figure out the communication thing. And yet, the demons seem to have no problem with this at all. They can move objects, inhabit Smurf dolls, speak through mediums, speak through novels, speak through movies.....hell, they just talk their little heads off whenever and wherever they want.

Why, let's face it....demons hang around at all of the spring yard sales and ride home in people's purchases. They are experts at public speaking and in-home presentations.

But Jesus, who is the ruler over everything, can't figure out any way to communicate with his people? What is wrong with this picture?

LOL. Thanks, you just explained another phobia of my wife. Ah, the picture keeps getting clearer and clearer. Little by little I'm learning about all the ingrained fears, phobias, and prejudices instilled in my wife by the WT. It's certainly bittersweet. I can't help laughing at some of the preposterous things, while at the same time being profoundly sad for my wife.

Was the Urban Legend about demons in secondhand articles written, because it is so funny that ALL JW's know of this. I have lived in Texas, Georgia, Maryland, DC, Virginia and Ohio and everyone is in agreement and I can see around the world we were united on where demons can be found. Not to mention the damn smurfs, I'm still a little afraid to watch them on TV (lol).

Well, the demons have been among us since the time of Adam, they have learned how to trip up Jehovah's chosen people through public media. Jesus has only reigned(sp) for 87 years. I guess he hasn't found out how to make a smurf talk for him yet. LOL.

You should know that the reason the leadership says that the first century christians had worse problems than the JWs do today is to cover over the fact that they do not have spirited anointed leaders as did those first century christians. There was no problem that the first century leadership could not solve. These men were truly spirit-anointed and led by spirit. Consider Paul's words to Timothy at 1 Timothy 1:6, which reads: "For this very cause I remind you to stir up like a fire the gift of God which is in you through the laying of my hands upon you." A real spirit-appointed/anointed leader! Now how many of the so-called spirited-appointed leaders today can make this claim? In fact, which one of the GB can show that he is truly anointed by exhibiting some/one of the gifts of the spirit that Paul speaks of at 1 Corinthians 12:4-11? I have seen no such evidence, maybe someone else has, I don't know. Certainly, not one of them has shown that he has the gift to interpret prophesy. If these men are anointed, we should have ample evidence of this as we are expected to follow their every word!

Hey folks,

You forgot one thing about Satan and the demons. Up until 1914, they were running around all through the universe, and as you all know the universe is a pretty big place. Now, you see, they are huddled here around this little ball of mud we call earth. They have more time now to do things like jump into musty old couches and cause more trouble than a pack of fleas. Of course, you know if you burn that couch, they will flit off to somebody else's house, because they do not have enough sense to jump into your new, better smelling replacement couch.
By the way, demons don't hang out at the large ornate Catholic churches as some Witnesses believe, because Satan has already go them, lock, stock, and barrel.

I hope I cleared that up for you.
