Any sane person viewing this board would come to the conclusion that the witnesses are kill-joys. Where's all this 'supposed' happiness and joy coming from? Certainly not from recreation or outings among other witnesses. They say, all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy, hmmm, shouldn't that ring a bell?

All personal activities are limited and I mean limited. The lifestyle of a witness is like the commercial where a man is running to catch his train while having his breakfast in his hands. Eating and living on the run, is that a happy and normal life?

How many witnesses do you see (except for the rare ones) when they have a company outing have a good time? You can't let your JW hair down when it comes to 'worldly' surroundings. What a robotic life! Kill Joys. And they tell us to be balanced in 'all' things? Ah, yes, by their scales.

    Is this true or not?

    OH NO!

They cannot kill Joy (Joy2bfree)! We love her!
I guess they don't like it [>:(] that she celebrated a double whammy: Mother's Day and Birthday on the same day!

    Ok, on a serious note:

I think it is true. All that smile and happy, carefree attitude seems to be just a facade or an act to make everyone (nonJWs and other JWs) believe that they are living a happy life or that JWs are the happiest people on Earth. So much for that hypocrisy, that when a nonJW baptizes, then their true colors will reveal or when a nonJW doesn't wanna join, they will show their true colors.

    Buncha hypocrites!

    regards,

In a cult, isolation and lack of fun are good things - they focus the mind of the drones on the cult, and nothing else. Remember, if the Dubs realized that there was something to the "World", then they would be in it already (figuratively speaking).

By keeping them busy, the Watchtower ensures that they will have no time to pursue activities which might lead them astray. This is a classic cult tactic...

"If men were like their personal ads, they wouldn't need personal ads."

Syn, and all this business about theoctratic (buzz word) warefare will keep you save from outside/worldly influences. I'm also referring to 'personal' pleasures, art, music, activities that stimulate the mind and relaxes you. You are deprived of your own likes, wants, needs and relaxation. The entire family 'suffers' with this type of lifestyle. No one is perfect yet they require the R&F to be perfect and spiritual 24 hrs, 365 days a year and for the rest of lives! Even God doesn't expect that from imperfect humans! Is this insanity? Is it any wonder they are so many 'emotional misfits' within their ranks?

The WT ensures that they will have no activities at all. I have observed that most JW's participation in JW activities can best be described as mechanical. The robot automaton that blindly does only what it's told.

Those who rarely attend meetings are either unconsciously towing the party line or they're defending the WT only because it's the only thing they've known for their whole life.
