The WTS teaches to avoid the bad association of people who used to be JW but left the organization. R&F are instructed even not to read their material.

In connection with the exhibitions shown in Europe about the JW persecution in Hitler Germany, Johannes Wrobel, head of the Watchtower History Archives at the German branch office, in a speech quoted well-known apostate Hans-Jürgen Twisselmann on his opinion on the Stand Firm-Video. Twisselmann wrote several books on JW and runs the website http://www.bruderdienst.de

I was present at an occasion when this speech was given by Wrobel and he seemed to feel uncomfortable when mentioning the name but mention he did. The talk was also printed in the German edition of the book "Persecution and Resistance of Jehovah's Witnesses During the Nazi Regime 1933-1945" ( http://www.edition-temmen.de).

The WTS bought hundreds of the book to donate it to libraries and VIPs.

There Twisselmann is quoted in a footnote on page 372 calling the Stand Firm-Video "a professionally made documentary" and a "propaganda movie". Twisselmann quoted by Wrobel is similar to find a quote from Randy Waters in a talk by Pellechia.

There is also a German book on the Kusserow family written by Hans-Werner Kusserow. This book has also been advertised by the WTS at exhibitions. In the foreword, the authors states that he used to be a JW but that he now has a neutral status while he is neither DA nor DF.

I strikes me that the WTS makes good use of inactive ones and even publicly quotes apostates.

That the Kusserows died for what they then believed to be the Truth touches the hearts of all. That one of their descendants does not care for being a JW, doubtlessly because JW beliefs have changed so much, is also significant.

Wow, that is definitely worth following up.

That any JW died for their beliefs is beyond pathetic. The attitude of the Watchtower that 'a dead JW is better than an alternative service JW' is despicable, and if you don't think the WT agrees...just see how often they admit to their expulsion/shunning policy regarding alternative service.

In all of the JW and the NAZI books and videos I have seen--and the number increases constantly--NEVER...and I repeat NEVER...have I seen the shunning/expulsion policy outlined as well.

WATCHTOWER is useless, lying sack 0' s**t excuse for humanity. Their time has come, and we are only just getting started.

    WATCHTOWER...we gonna git you, suckas!!!

I would like to add that some of the JW telling their life story for the JW in the Stand Firm campaing were inactive during the last years considered weak members in their congregations. They were reactivated by touring Europe and telling their story. But there are not that much exhibitions any more at present.

About the shunning: it is mentioned. In some concentration camps there were two groups of JW. The hardliners and those who had a more liberal view on somethings (what you can do and what you can't). Of course, the hardliners DF those who did not hold their view. And so there were some JW in the camps that were shunned by other JW.

I used to be SO impressed with the JW-Nazi thing. Now, I'm of a different opinion.

Did the JW's resist Hitler out of love for God? OR - fear of Armageddon (since it was just around the corner). When I became a dub, I had no idea of the long history of Armageddon-hype by the WT. Surely the German brothers thought it would come at any time.

Many Christians resisted the Nazis. Not because their church threatened to expel them for violating neutrality, but because their conscience told them to. I am much more impressed with that.

Dan - you read the watchtower quotes leading up to WWII?

Check out: http://quotes.jehovahswitnesses.com/ for some interesting insight.

They didn't oppose Hitler AT ALL until Hitler started rounding them up.
