Legality of WT in a Free Democracy?

Armed with all the facts, an overall grasp of the facts, a helicopter minds view of the entire situation, in an ideal free democracy, would the WT corporation be legal or illegal? Based on their own Theocratic Warfare Doctrine? What does this advocate?

The constitution in a free democracy, its courts of justice and law are based on Truth, yet the WT has this practice in constant use and place. To what end?

I am writing a small article for the UK think tank Community Action Network, CAN, and would be most interested to hear your views. All names will be omitted, absolute anomnimity assured and guaranteed. (Your choice).

    Kind regards

An interesting thought , Celtic, and to expand on that point I would say that what the Watchtower needs is to be 'taken over' just like Rutherford did all those years ago. At the very least, with all the infighting, the Watchtower might let a few sexual indiscretions and blood transfusions slip by them, one could always hope anyway.

Which could lead to some problems tho...

    1) The takeover would be illegal now. Would be great to try. All those dratted legal protections that the Watchtower keeps forgetting to say 'thank you' for. After all, say the Watchtower, the lawmakers that make them, the voters that vote for them, and the police and military that enforce these freedoms, are all going to die-die-die, remember. <sigh>

    2) In the past, each new 'changing' of the guard meant only fewer freedoms for all JW's, and especially for Women and Children. I don't expect this to be any different, although if 'something' happens I PRAY I will be pleasantly surprised.

Which brings up another question that begs to be asked. If, as the Watchtower and Jehovah's Witnesses will say when told that they owe all these democratic freedoms to military and police,"Oh no, it's God Jehovah that is the reason we are protected, he uses the military and police to help us"; then explain why the preaching work is less effective and persecution is more plentiful in less democratic lands, where the police and military don't seem interested in the Watchtower's well being as such. I AM JEHOVAH--I -- I-- AM BIPOLAR !!

    <grrrrr>

    Great thread, Celtic.

Aren't there afidavits that they have to sign as officers of the corporation where they have to swear to certain facts. The Theocratic War Strategy would conflict with something there, I would think.

    Dungbeetle,

My ideas on taking over the WTS. I think a disfellowshipped person would have to sue use the courts and sue to become a Jehovahs witness or an employee of the corporation on the basis of some kind of discrimnation. With the precedence few would be disfellowshipped and the Borg would lose control.

    Just my latest theory.

In order for the WT to be illegal, the will of the majority would have to be overturned. Courts have sometime succeed in reversing the will of the majority if something is found unconstitutional, which itself repersents a higher form of democracy embraced by the will of the majority.

So, the very instrument used to allow the WT to exist, the constitution, would need to be invoked as a standard to determine if the WT violates it enough to warrrant the negation of freedom of religion clauses.

The courts have been very reluctant to go down this slippery slope because once they do, the line is forever blurred.

I believe the approach from the angle: the WT doesn't have a right to exist is fraught with too many pitfalls. It is much better to approach it from that which questions its culpability in violating civil rights.

    Greetings Celtic,

The concept of free democracy is flawed by it's own core elements to begin with. It's purpose is to favor social equality and the means it does this is to dispense with the best interests of the minority.

The constitution in a free democracy, its courts of justice and law are based on self serving versions of truth. It is that selfish majority that have created a cocoon of ambiguity as a path for it's own darker agendas. A path that appears pure to the casual observer.

It is in the nature of the selfish self serving majority that the partnering exclusive little groups with special agendas are given the clear path to satisfaction of their own wishes. The Watch Tower Corporation has a legitimate place in this system by virtue of it's compliance with the nature of the context.

The delusion is that there can exist an ideal free society in the context of the democratic form of government. If it was ideal, it could not be a democracy because the essence of democracy is the dispensing of the best interests of the individual member to the benefit of the many. In a democracy, every individual looses. Far from ideal.

The issue in the context of the ideal would never be the legality of the WT corporation. The issue would be the legality of the democracy.

The Watch Tower Corporation uses theocratic war strategy. All that is is the selection of facts to present that agree with their best wishes. It simply avoids disclosure and arranges a version of the truth to attempt to meet their goals. An attempt to appear honest while not hurting their cause. In an ideal free society they nor anyone else would have to resort to the manipulation of the facts to meet their agenda.

The fact that groups manipulate and mangle is more of an indictment of the system than the group. When I want to study deceit and misrepresentation of the facts all I have to do is analyze a high level campaign for political office in a democratic system.

A real indictment of the Watch Tower Corporation is their claim of non involvement in political events. That of course is a flat lie. The Watch Tower Corporation is heavily involved in the legislative process by means of their lobbying such as they did in Greece when they issued a statement as well as a Proclaimer's book to every Greek government official they could find. They claim neutrality and neutrality is indifference. Lobbying is the farthest thing from indifference and lobbying (trying to influence a lawmaker or enforcer) is certainly political involvement.

The Watch Tower Corporation is also heavily involved in the political system at the Judicial branch. They brag about bringing the most cases to the United States Supreme Court. So on one hand, the Watch Tower Corporation brgas about non participating in politics while on the other hand they brag about being the most active in political involvement.

This is simply one more example of the policy of the applied dichotomy. That is, the teachings about the behaviors and the behaviors themselves do not match.

A good week and best wishes to all,

    gb
