It was a good one! Happened just a couple of minutes ago.
Mostly up and down movement with one good tilt toward the north.
First report I got was 5.8 centered in Chino Hills.

Aude, I thought it would never stop, it just went on forever. Is anyone else having a hard time with phone lines?

XJW - My computer has been sloooowww all day. Probably not for the same reason.
Lola - This sure didn't seem as long as the '94 quake. I think this one only lasted maybe 6 seconds. Felt like 6 seconds anyway. Here we got the first jolt for a few seconds, it subsided and then bounced for a couple more seconds. Maybe 4 or 5 minutes later was a much smaller aftershock.
Unconfused - Being on the bike would concern me. Especially if I was on an overpass or canyon road.

Aude, here we got the initial movement and then a harder shake that just continued for a while, it seemed to slow and then pick up a bit more.

USGS site said 5.6, then took that offline. Aftershcoks 10 minutes later felt in OC. They are listed as 3.8
And there will be wars and rumors of Urthquakes????
