    Hi to everyone

Its been a long time since i posted here, just a quick update, my son and his family are witnesses and my grandson has decided he dosen't want to be anymore so lots of friction there at the moment.

The reason i am posting today is because i picked up a magazine and came across something that shocked me to the core, and on top of this the man is a witness, i am not going to say anymore check it out the link is www.discovery.co.uk/myshockingstory/manwithoutnoface

Wow!! If you look close enough, you can see where the "normal" part of his head ends and the growth begins...that's freaky. The poor guy. I cannot begin to imagine the lifetime of ridicule he must have endured.

Why would he have to "throw his religious beliefs out the window" in order to seek help by means of operations ???

It's incredible what people will allow to happen to them when they believe that The New System™ is Just Around The Corner™, and he'll be fixed up just fine afterwards.

From a medical perspective, a strawberry hemangioma is a highly vascular thing, meaning that they usually bleed quite profusely when they are cut into. Those are the "stork bite" marks that a lot of babies are born with. The vast majority of them do not turn into THAT though.

Had they done something about this growth in the early stages, he probably would have been fine. Blood transfusions would not have been an issue, especially with careful blood-sparing procedures that have been standard with JWs for at least 2 decades.

I'm guessing, based on his age (51) and his age 35 years ago (2007-35=1977) when this thing started to change (16), he had hopped on the Armageddon Is Just Around The Corner™ bandwagon and has been holding on for dear life ever since.

It should be criminal that a person's life suffers this kind of setback on the say-so of a bunch of ivory-towered old men who don't give a crap about anyone but themselves, and who are not the least bit willing to own up to their errors in judgement - the same erroneous beliefs that they expect their followers to lay down their lives for.

Was the magazine a WT or Awake? I do not understand the connection to the Witnesses. I believe he was just commenting on what life would be with a tumor, and maybe why God allows stuff like this to occur? Please correct me if I missed something.

What I don't understand is why people take years to do something about illnesses like this.

If this person is in fact a Witness, then this kind of surgery would kill this person without a (lot of) transfusion(s). There might even be a lifetime of corrective surgerys.

As a kid, just one zit was extremely humiliating. I do wish him well whatever the choice he opts for.

My ex-husbands brother had this disease. About 2/3 of one side of his face was ok, with the exception of some half inch growths. Then, about the start of the corner of his mouth, on the right, it got progressively worse, til the ear on the other side. From the back, he looked normal.

Huge vascular growths, just like this man. But he was also very brain damaged. He never spoke. He would turn toward you, if you said something when you came in the room. His mother and step-father took care of him, until he died, at about age 55. They would get him out of bed and tie hm into a chair, to sit up. He had to be spoon fed. His mom called him her baby. He as the second of 9 children. She would find Dr's to make house calls.

I was there, standing over him, when he passed away, at home He had never been in a hospital that I know of. They called the Funeral Home, and the funeral home brought 2 police officers. THE LAW. The funeral guys brought the gurney into the room, and waited til the policemen got in there. Funeral guys said how sorry they were, and were very respectful. When the policeman got there, they were repulsed and you could hear the intake of air, and an expletive under their breath!!! I was SO mad!! Only myself and his sister were in there, and heard it. We decided to not say anything to anybody. Out of love for my mother-in-law.

They had to stop by the hospital, to get him pronounced dead. When my M-in-L found this out, she insisted that the other sons, followed, and to not let anybody "cut" on her baby. They had a closed casket funeral, she didn't want anybody gawking at her baby either. You could tell, that she wasn't ashamed f him, but didn't want him to be oogled. She was a wonderful lady, but so stooped over, from probably lifting him for years.
