The Watchtower & Islam?

The Watchtower 'pounded' the Catholic Church in their publications for years. An equally influential religion has been Islam, and maybe even more so. Has the Society written anything on them? If not, why not?

As a matter of fact has much or anything been written about 'Moonies', or 'Mormons', or 'Scientologists' etc. by the Jehovah's Witnesses organization?

    Just curious.

The JWs have been recruiting their followers mostly among Catholics and different Protestant denominations. That's why they had to put down these major religions in their literature.
They can't attack small groups, they are one, and they proclaim that they fight for religious freedom.

    OutaService,

Hi big D. One of the reasons I think the Witnesses go after the Catholics, is the traditions of the Judge. Many of his books devoted 30 to 50 pages to bashing the Catholics. It is a time honored tradition.

Also, most of the JW work as been successful within the confines of Christianity. It is easier to convert someone who has some vague notions of the Bible, and respect it as God's word. It is much more difficult to go after those who have a religion that is not well understood, and does not share a common frame of reference. The JWs are not very successful in NonChristian countries.

Well, that is how I see it. That is my proudly humble opinion.

JW's wrote a pretty good book on the worlds religions about 12 years ago. It is formatted with questions at the bottom of each page like most of their study books.

We have never studied that book. Never could figure out why?

Perhaps it would create doubts about the veracity of the Bible and the Christian religion. Maybe a little too open minded.

proplog2, I too wondered why JWs have never studied that book...a Bahai friend was impressed by the information on the Bahais and felt it was fair and accurate.

Here are some larger articles and publications on Islam and the Quran over the years. The "Mankind's Search for God" and the brochure should still be available through KH literature sources or probably on Ebay or other used book sites.
