I read somewhere this mourning that there was supposed to be a special talk soon about the blood issues, can someone direct me to this info ?

I don't know about that, but I did view the lastest DVD on Blood by the WTBTS as of 2004 yesterday.
After the discussion the JW lady who was with me watching it showed me her blood card, it and it had new catagories of blood treatment permitted by them but gave the individual witness the chance to refuse if they wanted. Of course storing their own blood was not an option. But the typical blood fragments. And the filtering of blood during surgery.
This JW who has been baptized since 1985 did not even know that the society allows organ transplants. She if largely ignorant on blood and how blood works in the body though the DVD did show this.
This JW lady said she would refuse even the filtering of blood during surgery, which I know is extreme even for a JW. She is a very limited education and fully trust in her organization to direct her.
This lady does not know I was an ex-witness and she calls on me sometimes.

Per the December KM there will be a 25 minute part the week of December 19, 2005 entitled "Could Your Child Make a Mature Decision?" I'm pretty sure someone has already posted the article on jwd somewhere. The part that gets me is this (from the KM instructions for the part): "In conclusion, encourage parents to review that entire article in The Watchtower and to follow through immediately by having discussions and practice sessions with their children about the Bible-based command regarding blood, equipping them to express their beliefs with conviction. Family heads should be sure that each baptized child is carrying a DPA card and that each unbaptized child is carrying an Identity Card."

I wonder if she knows that she will be shunned if she were to take the blood even though it is now up to their conscience.?
