Given that so many practises associated with Christmas are blatantly Christian in origin, is Christmas truly for Pagans?
I know that often there are few Christian connotations attributed to it nowadays, in such a secularised society, but history is on record in showing that the whole baby Jesus thing is definitely a Christian element. Would any true Pagan today want to drink such a mixed cup?

As Christopher Lee once said on the movie Wicker Man - set on an island very near where you live Ross - God had his chance and blew it - and so paganism abounded on the island - and they enjoyed what ever they felt like including Christmas and Britt Ekland as far as I remember
I think it's for everyone: for families to get together, for kids to get gifts and party, for christians and their christian stuff, for pagans who originated it. For the pagans, the bonfires for the aiding of the sun to come back is a good thing, bacause the days are so short and so cold. The use of small decorative lights of all colors to decorate houses is a great counteraction to all the darkness. Sometimes, i will stop my car on an especially lit up street and just walk it, taking in all the light. Around here, the light decorations are increasing every year.

I think anyone should be able to enjoy Brit Ekland and pretty lights, regardless of religious persuasion, but get with the game guys! What "true Pagan" would want to get mixed up in such a decadent celebration with such a history of Christian connotations?
I'm not an anything. I don't fit in any box. So, i don't mind going to a church to listen to christams carols sung by a choir, or played on a pipe organ. I walk out as soon as the pompous priest doddles toward the lecturn, though. I think decadence is a matter of personal taste to pagans. I mean, they don't have a talmud to tell them their morality. Bring on brit eckland.

AND with all the paganism involved with Christmas: fir tree, holly, misletoe (not Little Toe) tree decorations, "christmas" lights, feasting, etc., What "true" Christian would want to get involved?
Actually, I think the Christians are the ones that polluted the holiday in the first place!
Personally, I don't care. It's a fun holiday and a time when (when my energy permits) allows me to let others know how special they are to me.
