Yep, as far as I understand, voting and celebrating your birthday are not actually disfellowshipping offences.

What do they use from the Bible to even make it a matter of conscience...I know my wife always talks about how this governmental system is only temporary, but we need to live in it, don't we???

It is amazing how this gets twisted to seem to say jws can vote. Another case of the WTS speaking out of both sides of their mouths, llike the lawyers (Pharisees) they really are. All I can think is Malawi and all the people who were attacked, killed, and run out of their homes for just refusing to BUY a political card, not even voting.

In the late sixties many witnesses tortured and murdered for not being politically active. http://www.jwfiles.com/malawi.htm

They need to know how to spell. That article was full of typos. I can't even use it to defend my right to vote because it wasn't edited properly.

you will get DFed if you vote. Nothing has changed except weasel words for the European countries where the WT wants to be recognized as NOT a cult.

If an active JW in America voted and it was public knowledge (and they did not repent) would the elders take action or does it depend on the body of elders? Would the person be dfed? Would they instead be involuntarily daed? Would presentation of the '99 WT work in their defense at all?
