How does Jehovah's direction differ from pulling it out of your *ss

The Doctor examines the patient and prescribes a powerfully effective medicine.

The Pharmacist dispenses the medication according to the prescription.

The patient takes the medicine according to the label directions.

The above is a three step process. Easy analogy to understand. We've all had to visit the doctor and get medicine at one time or another.

Now I want to examine this process and use the analogy as a model for understanding how the governing body dispenses "truth" from Jehovah to the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses as his mouthpiece and "prophetic" voice.

In the 1950's doctors began prescribing a medicine called THALIDOMIDE. The purpose of the drug was to prevent morning sickness and allow pregnant women to get a good nights sleep.

Everybody did their job. The doctor prescribed; the Pharmacist dispensed and the patient dutifully trusted taking the medicine.

What happened?

10,000 babies were born with disabling birth defects. About half survived. So awful were these afflictions that some mother's were prosecuted for killing their own infants to spare them the life that might follow.

Why bring up this truly repugnant story?

There is a parallell!

Who was responsible for these deaths and birth-defects?

Was it the mothers who trusted the Pharmacist and the Physician?

Was it the Pharmacist who followed the perscription of the Doctor?

Was it the Doctor who followed the reccomendations of the medical journals and drug companies?

Was it the drug companies who followed the reccomendations of their research facilities?

What is my point? Where is the parallel?

Here:

Well over 10,000 lives have been adversely affected by the spiritual medicine dispensed by the Watchtower and the governing body who are Jehovah's pharmacists. People have died taking their medicine faithfully. Children have perished. Families have been ripped apart. Abuse has been ignored.

Who is to blame?

If the governing body is truly FOLLOWING THE PERSCRIPTIONS of the great physician JEHOVAH---why all the destructive results?

Is Jehovah to blame for wrong perscriptions?

Or, is it more likely that the governing body pulls their medicine out of their own *ss?

How would it differ?

They have admittedly dispensed improper doses of Armageddon warnings, faulty understandings and flip-flopping on important issues.

Why is their medicine so deadly if they aren't making it all up?

interesting analogy Terry. I like it. The pparmacist comparison is a good one. Pharmacists are the last line to make sure the patient is not injured by taking a med incorrectly, or having drug interactions with other medications. It is their responsibility to make sure things are dispensed correctly and not accidently put, say Aldactone in the bottle instead of Allegra.

Good post, terry. When i read in ray franz' book how his uncle freddy controled the gb meetings, by what he said, when he said it, and his lackeys supporting him, that was the instant that i saw that god was not directing the wt corporation. It was fred franz! That was the end of my wt daze.

So if God is the doctor.. he surely knows that the pharmacist is despensing improper dosages/medicine(s) and yet is doing nothing.. I think he should have his license revoked .

Actuall....I STILL wonder which men of the GB....if any, know for a positive FACT, that the WTBTS is bogus. Do they REALLY know for sure as do we? Some MUST know. What are the chances this many men could see the falacies of the Organisation as we have........and every one of them would still believe the Organisation is mankinds lifeline?

If they really still believe.....then their sin is more understandable to me. If they know they are truely wrong.......then they are murderers of the worse kind as they watch people slowly die, and see many lives needlesly ripped apart.

Excellent analogy Terry! Also, Gumby--you make a good point about the GB. It would seem impossible to me that at least some of them do not know about the fallacy. But, if they do know and won't/can't/don't do anything about it--shame on them. It can't be that Ray Franz was the only one to escape--maybe some have tried and they have been "gotten rid of". **shudder** But seriously, I suppose that they probably feel pretty trapped---for so many people in the org., especially those in a position of power, the WTBTS is their life, the only thing they know. Not so sure if that is really a good excuse though.

i think it's more the fds can 't read the precription (bible ) correctly and just despenses what ever they think the doctor wrote. over time they think they have become the doctor(christ) . but once you test their medicine . you find out thier are really the NUTTY PROFESSOR. JOHN
