Just One Short Bible Verse

It only takes one short sentence from the Bible to thoroughly demolish the Watchtower religion and the doctrine they claim is their most important one. This sentence is so crystal clear that there is no way the WTS can weasal out of it. That's why they don't even try.

Although their REAL most important doctrine is that the governing body speaks for God, their CLAIMED most important doctrine begins with the notion that Jesus took Kingdom power and began reigning in 1914. If that doctrine can be shown to be false, the entire Watchtower theology scam crumbles into the trash heap where it belongs. Without 1914 as a key date, the GB loses all claims to spiritual authority over their membership.

What verse am I talking about? Matthew 28:18:

"And Jesus approached and spoke to them, saying: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth."

Jesus didn't say SOME authority in heaven and earth, or MOST authority in heaven and earth. He said ALL authority in heaven and earth. There is nothing more than "all." There is no more authority or rulership that can be gained than "all."

Jesus didn't said he would get "all" authority in some future date. No! He spoke in the past tense! He said he already had it!

Therefore, the idea that Jesus was to sit on some invisible thrown and begin ruling two millenia in the future is ridiculous. And stupid.

Ephesians 1:20-22 also speaks in the past tense about the authority God had given Jesus had during the time of the apostles:

"...with which he has operated in the case of the Christ when he raised him up from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above every government and authority and power and lordship and ever name named, not only in this system of things, but also in that to come. He also subjected all things under his feet, and made him head over all things."

Not "some" things. Not merely all "earthly" things, but ALL things including ALL governments. If all things were subjected "under his feet," then all things were Jesus' subjects. Therefore he was already ruling in the days of the apostles.

Jesus himself gives a simple statement that makes the 1914 doctrine, and the Watchtower society's claim to spiritual authority a lie and a blasphemy.

Farkel, Farkel, Farkel.....When are you going to learn, my friend?

When reading scripture, the most simple, straightforward interpretation is ALWAYS the wrong one. That's why we need the FDS to write 6 books on each and ever word recorded in the Bible for us silly beings to understand it!

    For example:

    • Jesus is already "standing", yet he can still "stand up" at the appointed time.
    • Jesus is the gate, the gatekeeper, and the pen (and possibly the sheep-dip)
    • Every eye can see Jesus when he returns, yet he's invisible

    Easy/clear=from Satan

    Complex/nonsensical=Real Truth

    Hope this helps,

They also like to quote the scripture about God dwelling in unapproachable light thus meaning that it is impossible for man to see him and live so being invisible is the only way he can govern from heaven without killing everybody . I think jesus said ,"happy are the pure in heart , for they shall see God." So maybe it's impossible for them to see God because they have the inability to produce a pure heart .

Face it, Farkel- God likes dumb people. They make better worshippers. What is that scripture?

"God has rejected the lofty of this world in favor of the simpletons..." or something like that. In other words, any of you folks have college or read a book or two are right-out! Clear-thinkers always, eventually, inevitable see behind the BS.

Why do you think dogs don't get resurrected? Who was it who finally pulled back the curtain in The Wizard of Oz to reveal fake wizard? Dorothy? Nope, Toto!

Why do you think God planted little hidden clues about the trinity in scriptures like John 1:1 and Revelation Alpha texts? If the technology had existed in the First Century to have the Greek Scriptures recorded as audio tapes, we could play it backwards and hear - not "Paul is dead" - but "Yes, we IS a trinity."

God loves him a good mystery, yeah he does.

    Profound post Farkel!

After Jesus laid claim to his soverign authority his first degree:Jesus laid out the great Christian commission Jehovah's witnesses and their bogus blasphemous baptism. It is an illegitimate abomination.. After his resurrection Jesus laid out the great Christian commission. He said," make disciples and baptize them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the holy spirit ". This pledge is plain and simple. The Watchtower has, blasphemously bastardized (" borgadized" ) that sacred oath. They have ADDED ............"and to : Jehovah's 'organization' { watchtower cult }..see : Revelation 22:18 about adding anything to the sacred textSkull & Crossbones naughty, naughty

    Exactly Farks.

I've used this simple point many times - the dubs really have no sensible answer, save for the convoluted reasoning in the publications.

    Cheers, Ozzie

That was one of the things Dave kept harping at me about 10 years ago. He made me so angry because there was no argument for that simple point.

Another he reminded me about yesterday was that "Jehovah" was not our heavenly father. That only gets to be claimed by the FDS. To the rest of us he was our heavenly "friend".

The WTS mostly ignores making any direct application of this scripture as to "when" Jesus was entrusted with, invested with, given, uses this authority. I call this the "skip over" method. Rather they try to make application by correlation as seen in the following. (Good point about God not being our father, Mulan. Another research project for me. Thanks).--Blondie

    w02 3/15 p. 13 Christ Leads His Congregation

Jesus not only assigned his disciples the life-saving work of making more disciples but also promised to be with them. The history of early Christianity, as recorded in the Bible book of Acts, shows beyond a doubt that Christ used the authority given him to lead the newly formed congregation.

w02 12/15 pp. 16-17 "He Will Draw Close to You"

Jehovah?s powerful holy spirit has been put at Jesus? disposal to help him to lead his disciples on earth. (John 15:26; 16:7) Jesus could therefore say: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." (Matthew 28:18)

w87 7/1 p. 18 Michael the Great Prince Stands Up

After his resurrection in 33 C.E., Jesus told his followers: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." (Matthew 28:18) Jesus has long exercised such authority over his anointed servants on earth. (Colossians 1:13) However, the time had not yet come for Jesus to exercise authority as King of God?s Kingdom. Rather, after his ascension he ?sat at God?s right hand in heaven? until the time for the establishment of that Kingdom. (Psalm 110:1, 2; Acts 2:34, 35) That time came in 1914, "the time appointed." (Daniel 11:29) In that year, Jesus was enthroned as reigning King of God?s Kingdom and immediately, as Michael the archangel, he cast Satan out of heaven. (Revelation 11:15; 12:5-9) So since 1914 Jesus has been "standing" as King.?Psalm 2:6.

w83 10/1 p. 22 Do You Respect the Name of Christ?

After his resurrection Jesus showed the extent of his authority when he said: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." (Matthew 28:18) This great authority included ruling as King over his own congregation since 33 C.E. and over God?s Kingdom since 1914. (Colossians 1:13; Revelation 11:15)

w77 12/15 p. 743 How Dependent Are We on Jesus Christ?

Jesus said: "All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one fully knows the Son but the Father, neither does anyone fully know the Father but the Son and anyone to whom the Son is willing to reveal him." (Matt. 11:27) Just before he ascended to heaven he told his disciples: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." (Matt. 28:18) Since that time he has occupied a position on his Father?s throne.?Rev. 3:21.

    w70 12/15 p. 739 Can You Wait Patiently?

Jesus Christ, God?s Son, also set a fine example of waiting patiently . He knew, as can be seen from the prophecies found at Revelation chapters 19 to 21, that it was God?s purpose for him to wipe out all of God?s enemies. And although upon his resurrection he had the will and the power to proceed against his enemies, he "sat down at the right hand of God, from then on awaiting until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet."?Heb. 10:12, 13; Matt. 28:18.

    w61 9/1 p. 524 Hold Your Position

As has often been shown from the Scriptures in these columns, this was fulfilled A.D. 1914, at the expiration of the "appointed times of the nations," when Christ began to rule as king. It is in this way and through this kingdom under Christ that Jehovah can be said to assume kingly power, and it is by this means that he will assert his authority in no uncertain terms. When on earth Jesus said: "For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son," and shortly after his resurrection he said: "All authority has been given me in heaven and on the earth." But he knew he would first have to sit and wait at his Father?s right hand until the due time to receive the rulership and kingdom before exercising that authority and executing that judgment.?Luke 21:27; Dan. 7:13, 14; John 5:22; Matt. 28:18; Ps. 110:1.

    w52 4/1 p. 208 The Jubilee Trumpet

Although at his resurrection Jesus received all power and authority, he had to wait for God?s due time to exercise it in behalf of mankind. Bible prophecy shows this time came in 1914, when war took place in heaven and Satan and his demons were cast down to the earth.?Matthew chapter 24; 28:18; Heb. 1:13; Revelation chapter 12.

Revelation Climax (1988) chap. 4 pp. 18-19 Jesus Comes With Encouragement

Now in Jehovah?s presence, he is exalted high above all earthly kings, being invested with "all authority . . . in heaven and on the earth." (Matthew 28:18; Psalm 89:27; 1 Timothy 6:15) In 1914 he was installed as King to rule among the earthly nations.?Psalm 2:6-9; Matthew 25:31-33.
