"Be Obedient...Be Submissive"

The March 15, 2002 study article of the Watchtower says about submitting yourself to the spirit appointed authority of the congregation elders. It says in paragraph 11,

Our Leader is perfect. The men he has given as gifts are not. So they may err at times. Yet, it is vital that we remain loyal to Christ's arrangement. In fact, living up to our dedication and baptism means that we recognize the legitimacy of spirit-appointed authority in the congregation and willingly submit to it. Our Baptism 'in the name of the holy spirit' is a public declaration that we recognize the holy spirit and acknowledge the role it plays in Jehovah's purposes. (Matthew 28:19) Such a baptism implies that we cooperate with the spirit and do nothing to hinder its operation among Christ's followers. Since the holy spirit plays a vital role in the recommendation and appointment of elders, can we really be faithful to our dedication if we fail to cooperate with the elder arrangement in the congregation?
Than paragraph 13 asks the question:

Who would not want to benefit from the grand arrangement of oversight that our Leader has instituted in the Christian congregation?
I like how it contradicts its self by admitting that the body elders are not perfect but appointed by Holy Spirit. How can this be I ask? If it is God's Holy Spirit that appoints them, how can it make a mistake in the first place? Also notice the quote from paragraph 13. The typical Jdub speak of making the reader feel guilty by implying that any one that doesn't go along with this "grand arrangement" is not normal.

This has always bothered me. I have also wondered why the "holy spirit" appoints elders who are abusive to their families and/or the congregation. If they are truly "appointed" then it would seem that you can fool the holy spirit by attending enough meetings and keeping up with the national average in field service. Seems pretty easy.

Isn't it strange how when we were part of the borg we never questioned the leadership but went along with the status que. I know this was the way I was brought up and I never dared questioned authority figures even when I knew they were wrong.

How can the "Holy Spirit" appoint elders who have been pedophiles all of their lives? I imagine that if someone has been a pedophile all of their life, the "Holy Spirit" would not allow such person to be appointed.
In other words it's all a crock of shit to keep the R&F in line.

Even as a young child I remember questioning and reasoning things out and not accepting everything at face value. That did get me into trouble a few times with my parents. They would say, Why do you ask so many questions?? I always had a good heart but wanted explainations to everything. Is this wrong?? According to the Jdubs it was.

Now I'm shocked at the lot of you...

Don't you know that the reason unfit men are appointed as elders is so that the r&f are tested as to their loyalty? After all we all know everything will be put right in God's due time. Right? I could be wrong. Or mistaken. I could have misunderstood. Maybe I am too proud and need to be brought down. After all sister, you need to remember your place. And not of course run ahead of the organiz... oops the Holy Spirit

    duh sometimes I'm so dumb
