Hello all, Happy Sunday to you!!

Just read Quandrys post about the 2007 Annual meeting notes. This comment made during that meeting just got under my skin, so I decided to start a thread to show the dictionarys definition of both of the words. Dictionary makes it clear they are one and the same! See my post to Quandrys thread:

    Dear Quandry,

Thank you for posting this! I found this statement to make not one bit of sence! "We of the Governing body have not always had the right understanding. The Gov. Body is not inspired and neither are the publications. It is the Holy Spirit that helps us to find the correct understanding".See what the dictionary has to say regarding "inspired" v.s. "spirit directed". They are just trying to cover all bases even if they make no sence it won't matter because their followers have given up their brains at the door years ago!

They have created a distinction without a difference.

They want the authority of actually being INSPIRED,

Without the accountability of acutally being INSPIRED.

The Bible they claim to hold so dear...offers NO EXAMPLES of this so called 'Spirit-direction'.

Either an individual is INSPIRED, or he is not. There's no 'in-between'.

Here's the question... then why doesn't the spirit guide you fools to the correct answer in the first place?

I don't think they care if they say things that don't make sense or are logically inconsistent.

"The sole purpose of the Watchtower" is to simply grow and to continue to exist.

They just need "smooth sounding" words to say to the people in order to keep them following the Organization.

    Everything they say is baloney!

That's the golden question. So either the GB is to inept to understand and follow the "guidance" or the "spirit" is giving them incorrect info which means God is wrong. Either way somebody is wrong, the GB or God. Ooohhhh how I hope somebody in my family wakes up with this "new light"!!!

Thanks for the dictionary, something the GB forgets to consult when convenient. This is obvious bull. It is obvious to those who have left and have had the opportunity to examine the history of the decisions and doctrine of the WTBTS that there is no evidence of being directed by the holy spirit.

I have a better question, for those who believe the bible. Where is it in the bible that this distinction exists? If you claim that the holy spirit picks the 144,000 (JW do) and that the holy spirit defintely picked JW's after 1919 (JW believe this too), is it too much to believe that the holy spirit would help these idiots get a few doctrines right? How about prophecies?

Ok, so we know that this is their way of dodging accountability for their false statements on prophecies and doctrine. Bottom line, the bible has only one criteria, spirit inspired. There is no such thing as spirit directed. You will never read about anyone in authority in the bible being wrong. (admittedly, they are biased) But if JW's applied the standards they apply to other religons, then no religion is spirit inspired. (I am not surprised....)

If I was directing a large group of persons through "spirit directed" or "inspired" information and said information was consistently wrong...I would personally be looking for a new source.

    That's just me, though.

The weak continue to be consumed by the predatory.

You can't stop a wolf from eating a rabbit, and the troubled will be victimized by the tyranny of evil men, as long as sex/money/power is desired so will contemptible acts be performed.
