Anyone can go, you don't need an invite, if you look in the Yellow Pages for Congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses you will probably find one in the area, if you call them they will probably be able to tell you the date.

I (like the majority of people on this forum) am an exJW who finds the lies taught by Jehovah's Witnesses to be abhorant, with this in mind do you mind me asking why you want to go to their Memorial?

My husb studies with the JWs. I've been to 1 of their sunday svcs, and a theocratic mtg. I found them boring and judgmental. Was just interested to see how they celebrate at the memorial. Nothing more. Thanks for the info.

P.S. My house is a do not call or Marked shall I say.

The back of the Territory Card has my address on it and is marked - "APOSTATE" so I never get bothered by Jeehovah's Wilesses.

There is a God after all.

Memorial is on April 2nd 2007 after sundown. Invitations are in the Kindom Hall's waiting distribution.

But you do NOT need an invitation to go.

Interesting to see the scan of the Memorial invite. Interesting also looking at the picture and caption, considering Jesus is barely mentioned during the talk. If I had received this invite and went because I wanted to know more about Jesus I would be very disappointed after the service.

Years ago I got a call from a young man whose girlfriend had fallen for the JWs. They were planning on getting married but the disagreements on religion were endangering this. The young lady was all excited about attending the Memorial which was just a few days away. This young man was wondering if he should accompany his girlfriend to this event. I told him that it was up to him and that if he went at least he would get a feel for what the JWs believe and practice.

A few days after the Memorial, I got a call from this young man. They had both attended the Memorial. It turns out that his girlfriend was so turned off and disappointed in the Memorial that she cried all night. I even think she quit studying with the JWs. I believe it was the focus on the organization and the lack of focus on Jesus that got to her. Not to mention the fact that no one in the entire Kingdom Hall partook of the bread and wine.

Very true. You should stick around here, you can learn a lot, if your husband is trapped/ about to be trapped in this cult. There is tons of info here, and people that spent many years as jws and/or were raised as jws. I don`t want to alarm you, but if your husband is on the way into this cult (and especially if you have children), you will experience radical changes in your life. Stick around.
