Studying the new "Keep on the Watch!" brochure - page 19 Never Good Enough

As we progress through the brochure, we've gone past the deception of the introduction and now comes "Will You Benefit?"

    Page 19 reads:

The crucial question is, Are we making the needed adjustments in order to be counted worthy to be a part of that "new earth" under the "new heavens"?

If you believed Watchtower theology you would believe that God accepts you only if you do works for him. On this basis you can never know if God will accept you. No wonder that dubs are never sure of their salvation. What a terrible plight they are in, not knowing where they stand with God, never knowing if they're good enough, constantly feeling guilty.

It could well be said that for a dub he/she is only as good as their last Field Service Report!

Yet that isn't what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that God calls his own, not because of anything they have done.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28)

The brochure continues the longheld teaching of the WTS that only works, i.e. hours in field service, right up to the end of one's life will give you any chance of a resurrection to life.

Thanks for your post. I had this brochure dropped off by two dubs a few days ago. They're going to come back to discuss (I've never been a JW).... now I have some ammunition.

If you want people under your controll to always look to you for advise you and not think for themselves you have to make them feel uncertain about their worth to the "Supreme Being" you represent. This keeps them doubtful about themsevles and there ideas and keeps them from questioning the WT writters. Any doubts they have about the WT is then pushed to self,,,after all what does the bible say?' that after we have done the will of god say: "I'm a good for nothing slave"'.

It's all a guilt trap no matter what way you look at it.

Ozzie, this reminds me of the scripture at Proverbs 30:15,16: "The (leeches) have two daughters that cry: Give! Give! There are three things that do not get satisfied, four that have not said: "Enough!" Sheol and a restrained womb, a land that has not been satisfied with water, and fire that has not said: "Enough!" The cleaver double speak language like used in the book 1984 by George Orwell. Perfect example of it being used today though religion. It is us aginst the whole wicked world.

The brochure is just more of the same brain washing that is for sure. Got it from a JW who brings me the current magazines, she doesn't know anything about my having been a JW for years. We've had some interesting discussions. And it allows her to count time talking to an apostate unknowningly, which tickles me.

What are you smoking? JWs dont have a salvation doctrine! We have an avoid destruction doctrine. Two totally different things! I could go on, but your critique is so far off its almost blind. Do you even know any jws? Which do you hear them talking about being saved, or not being destroyed?
