Jesus knows time of end?

    OK...I admit...I forgot a lot! Been out for a least 25 years!

But when visiting my JW mother in law last weekend..she kept emphasizing that Jesus now knows when Armageddon is going to start!

Is this new light? Or did they always teach this? All I remember is Jesus saying that "Nobody knows the time..only the Father".

So which is it please? Anyone remember?

After reading about the year 2000, I wonder if she knows it should be over by now!

Yes, Jesus knows that Armageddon came invisibly in 1975 the same way His kingdom did in 1914.

Ask your Mom to try that idea on for size.

It's my Mom- In- Law! He He!

Hey...you mean Armageddon came and it's the "New World" now?...I'm VERY disappointed!

I guess that means I made it?

Where is my very own fig tree?

And what are all these people doing here?

Its amazing what 21 years will do for the WTS confidence in their insider knowledge with God. First they could not say definitely ( December 1975), now if you don't believe he already knows, you are not a "reasonable" person (1996). Of course, they had egg on their face about 1975 and didn't want to be too "definite."

    DoesJesusnowknowthetimingofArmageddon?

It seems quite reasonable to believe that he does.

Hence, Jesus own words show that on earth he did not know the date for the end of the world. Has he learned it since?

Since Jesus has now been empowered (since 1914) as the one to conquer in Gods name, it seems reasonable that his Father has told him when the end will come, when he will "complete his conquest."

Does Jesus Christ know when the "great tribulation" will begin?

He may, but we cannot say definitely that he does.

Jesus will lead the heavenly armies in the "great tribulation." We are now deep into the period known as the time of the end, so God may already have made known to Christ the full battle strategy and schedule. But if Jesus has not yet learned the "day and hour" to "complete his conquest," he soon will learn it.

"It seems reasonable" therefore it is so?

    Reasonable based on what?!??!

Here's a statement from me: "It seems reasonable that JWs are working for a very rich corporation under the guise of religion".

    Thank you Blondie!

The thing that got me was she was so insistent and repeated it several times to me..like it was "New Light".

I just looked at her and said "Really?"

Golden Girl.....Who doesn't believe in "Armageddon " anyway!

    Just curious about their...New Lights..

    Thank you Joe!

How come the members can't recognize that fact? And how come their ears shut as soon as you try to explain these findings to them?

That "Organization" is so smart! They know just how to work the people!(Except us!)

Men who could write such words clearly do not know Christ, nor have a relationship with him, nor can they be encouraging a relationship with the one of whom it is written "ALL authority has been given me in heaven and on earth" - Matthew 28:18

And he said those words whilst he was still on earth.

    Cheers, Ozzie

I saw that Ozzie. I just can't help but wonder why she kept stressing that point...Like it was new light..

    Thanks for the post..

    ozziepost,

It seems quit reasonable that the one that can give Jesus all authority in fact is the one that really has all authority and thus knows things Jesus doesn't. The wellknown statement of Matt. 24 is clear; only the Father knows that time. Anyway "all" hardly ever mean all in the modern sense. Very easyb to show; all things will be reconciled in Christ (Col. 1:20). The explenation is of cause all things that is in existence on the final day as you dont count your dead cattle either. "As all die in Adam, all will be made alive in Christ" (1 Cor. 15:20). That is obviously only the saints, the whole topic of that chapter. In Luke (chapter 2 as I remember) "all the world" is to be counted by the Emperor's command. Again that is the Roman empire. The Bble is a easy victim for out of context quoting. All thngs must be studied with a rational sober mind.

    God Bless
