Are the WT following Jewish practices toward ex-believers?

  On the book of Hebrews,  The Believer's Bible Commentary says regarding those who leave the Jewish faith:

  "Now when a Jew left the faith of his forefathers, he was looked on as a turncoat and an apostate (meshummed), and was often punished with one or more of the following:

  Disheritance by his family.   Excommunication from the congregation of Israel.   Loss of employment.   Dispossession.   Mental harrassment and physical torture.   Public mockery.  Imprisonment.   Martyrdom.

  Of course, there was always the escape route.  If he would renounce Christ and return to Judaism, he would be spared from further persecution."

  Doesn't this sound similar to what the WT Society actually does in practice with us "renegades"?  Where is the Christian spirit in all this?  Wasn't Christ really "superior" to former Judaic practices supposed to be left behind?

  You are likely correct Wonderment. Very un-Christlike display is shown by the witnesses. When you think about it, JC never had a record of shunning anyone. In fact(something foreign to witnesses), JC did just the opposite...eating with those who had strayed. I believe this gave those lowly ones strength to turn around. 

  I am sure their absence of empathy from the witnesses and disdain for those who leave comes from a lack of accurate knowledge. They believe and buy the myths that have been delivered in the publications and from the platform. 

  Perhaps the Lord's example should be the overriding example, rather than cling to Paul's admission in Corinthians?

  The wtbts starts every wt study with an example from the hebrew scriptures. What a waste of time. The jews were a bunch of whacked out, rebellious, stubborn, sex maniacs and jehober still loved them?

  The wt likes to use the hebrew laws to guilt jw's and then tell them how loving jehober is! Are we christians or jews? are we jehovah's witnesses or jesus' witnesses? I know that rutherford liked the hebrew scriptures much more because of it's harshness and vindictiveness that jehober dished out.

  Is the jokehovian religion even xian as they claim to be?  They claim to be the only true xians on the planet, yet they act blatantly Jewish in so many aspects.  Aren't they the ones that say you can't mix truth and lies?  They use that one with dissuading people from worldly association.  Yet, within their own religion, they mix Judaism and Christi-SCAM-ity.

  If they want to be Jewish, so be it--but at least let prospective members know it is a sect of Judaism and not Christi-SCAM-ity before they make a legally binding commitment to remain jokehovian witlesses forever.  And, if anyone got in on the pretext that they were xians, only to find that they have blatant Judaism or communism mixed in, they should be free to leave without legal consequences, or even to sue the religion for fraud.

  The Watchtower Corporation emulates the ancient Hebrew's standard on how to treat dissentients because the organization was founded on propagating lies and deceit pertaining to its created doctrines.

  Doctrines that were perhaps advantageous and marketable for a publishing house to utilize in the proliferation of its publications and supported by the basic belief in the bible present within the population. 

  From that realization is it any wonder that the organization would also create strict adherence to those presented doctrines,  doctrines that were also used to solidify the assuming power and control of the organization's top leaders  ?

  The only thing the WTS cant enforce is the stoning to death of apostates in which the Hebrews once did.   

  But they do imply that these ones are to be killed soon come Armageddon anyways and their dead bodies will be eaten by birds and animals to impose the fear factor which essentially cultivates support toward the leadership..
