One of the most important questions.

It is enthralling having everything being dragged kicking and screaming into the light of day.

However one of the most important things to ask is this:

Is the RC evidence admissable in other countries and other courts?

IF it is, then no future child abuse case could be defended. This would destroy the org.

I'm no expert on international law, but I suspect that little, if any, of it would be admissible anywhere else.

What does seem valuable, however, is that the proceedings are being taped and are readily available.

They seem to provide an absolutely spot-on template for any other attorney in any other nation that is pursuing a case in which the WTS is sued for its (lack of appropriate) response to allegations of child abuse. What to ask, how to ask it, how not to allow JW double-speak and half-truths to obscure the real issues, etc.

The recordings should be brought to the attention of Zalkin and all the other law firms which have suits lined up and ready to go.

Probably not, but a template for further inquiries has clearly been created.

EDIT: Whoops, sir82 beat me to it.

I feel the world will be watching this and waiting to see the outcome. One thing is for sure, this is certainly setting a president.

    I have an important question.

Is the collection of "evidence" by the JW elders in child sex cases even legal at its most fundamental core? Can adult men legally collect details about child sex from a minor and then share those pornographic details with other men?

Is not the judical process itself actually a process of producing and distributing child pornography?

It makes me sick to my stomach that adult men can collect, write down, and then distribute those intimate details of sex with minors. The JW elders MUST be stopped from ever engaging in this sick and perverted practice. This is child exploitation that is reprehensible beyond belief.

And now, the WTS is trying to say that a minor has the option of writing out all the details of the sexual acts that were done to them and then submitting that material to the judical committe so that all those men can read about the sex acts that occurred between a minor and an adult. This 'improvement' that the WTS is proposing is sick - they are getting the child victim to provide pornographic material to them, written out in the child's own words. Sick, sick, sick.

Why is this being allowed to happen?

OrphanCrow - Remember back in the early 2000's a famous British rock star was prosecuted for using his credit card to access a website advertising child porn. His defence was that "he was doing research."

How much worse is what elders do to victims?

Good point OrphanCrow especially when it is conceivable that a former child molester could be appointed an elder and sit on a judicial committee where such conduct is discussed.

Worse. The minor is put in a room with adult men and the men get a live, blow by blow account of sexual acts done to that minor. It is creepy - the JW elders have access to pornographic material right in front of their faces. And,...then they get to talk about it amongst themselves. And they do it over and over again..you know...to collect more "evidence". Evidence of sex with a minor. Eveidence that they take notes on and share with other men in their organization.

And, to add to the titillation, it is done secretly...behind closed doors. Secret child pornography. No wonder the WTS doesn't want to hand over their child abuse files - it is their private collection of child pornographic sex stories that they don't want to give up.

OrphanCrow - "Why is this being allowed to happen?"

Because to the loyalist R&F, the WT leadership can do no wrong.

Vidiot...I meant ...not allowance by the WTS.. but, rather, why is society at large allowing the JW elders to collect, produce, and distribute stories about sex with minors?

There are international laws and agencies that are in place to prevent that exact thing from happening. The victim can be protected from giving testimony to the elders - under child pornography laws.
