15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”

19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

    where are our gifts?

where are all the volumes of books containing all these supposed 'works of God' performed by mere humans who followed the Christ, on this 'worldwide' preaching tour?

    a prophesy not fulfilled.

or is it that we have not done so in JESUS name? lol

It was simply "in"" in those times to use such sayings, referring to wonders.

" In my name they will drive out demons". Try promoting that today in

your church. Not many churches speak about demons anymore, I wonder

if the phrase "the devil made me do it" have something to do with it.

The phrase made popular by Flip Wilson....

So that explains all the snake handlers and faith healers in the United States ?

Sounds to me that statements in the bible shouldn't be taken literally !

Ya think? 71 people have died handling snakes as part of a religious ritual, usually in a Pentecostal church of some sort.

The 71 snake handlers that died just lessened the gene pool of the easily convinced.
