To make matters worse, the dubs consider her bloodguilty for her own death because she had preventable medical condition(s) resulting from obesity, and died from elective surgery.

So if she has any jw family, they will be looked down upon for bringing reproach and not cherishing jehoopla's gift of life. I'm betting the scripture about 'the wages sin pays is death' is read at her funeral.

I don't believe any JW makes a free choice at all on blood. The level of coercion present makes it a heavily weighted at best. I thought the coroners comments were well informed and appealed to reason rather than condemned anyone. What seemed to pop the honesty bubble was this comment . . .

Jehovah's Witness senior elder Graeme Martin said yesterday there was a vast amount of research into transfusions and religious choices, and "growing medical evidence of a decreased mortality rate with non-blood medical management".

Typical over-generalised response that's been trotted out now for 30 years. The JW's never isolate the issue which is emergency medical transfusion . . . without which, blood loss usually means death. Instead they bury the issue in the general "medical management" debate and trot out such statements. There ever-changing and cryptic policy kills people unneccessarily . . . like this lady . . . that's a fact they can't seem to face easily.

    I disagree.

JWs turn a blind eye to obesity. And the article said that the bleeding was a rare side-effect. Normally lap-band surgeries are relatively harmless.

And if anyone was to make an issue of her obesity, it could be argued that she was having an operation to treat her condition (ie lose weight which in turn could help correct some of her other health issues).

The dubs in your area don't consider bleeding out from elective surgery to be bloodguilt? They do here.

Heck, they even went so far as to state if you didn't keep your car in good working order and someone (including you) died as a result, you were bloodguilty and had to pay for your sin with death.

According to the Bible, when we deliberately put someone’s life unnecessarily in danger, we could become bloodguilty. (Compare 1 Chronicles 11:17-19.) What about showing respect for our own life? People normally do not want to die, but some risk death for the sake of pleasure. For example, many use tobacco...If we have respect for life, we will keep in mind the need to be safety conscious. We will not be careless and will not take risks just for pleasure or excitement. We will avoid reckless driving and violent or dangerous sports. ( Psalm 11:5 ) God’s law for ancient Israel stated: “In case you build a new house [with a flat roof], you must also make a parapet [or, low wall] for your roof, that you may not place bloodguilt upon your house because someone falling might fall from it.” ( Deuteronomy 22:8 ) In harmony with the principle set out in that law, keep such things as stairs in good condition in your home so that someone does not trip, fall, and get badly hurt. If you own a car, make sure that it is safe to drive. Do not let either your home or your car be a danger to you or to others. http://www.watchtower.org/e/bh/article_13.htm

Keeping your body in poor working order is required here in jw fundieland, or there are consequences.

Just a short statement on the issue of blood. It seems like the issue of surgery is a new ways of cutting open a body and to

indulge the body with blood, I dont believe the blood of an animal is what we believe in our human blood

the life of each person involves, with the breath of lifecoming from God ,who made us &that is Jehovah, he gave us the breath of life

that is why we have a desire to search for a spritual realm, in our existences. If you ever looked in toHistory of long ago the ability to eat

the blood of animals was t be able to have the life of an animal the strength etc. Man today with scienst found a way to rip up cut and to

add someone elses life to save a life, with the existing of another. People all feel that they die and will either have an after life, or will be in heavn

or will live as something different. why not feel that J.W. is involved in knowing that this life is not all their is. This is Satans World.

why try to grab on to a life that is full of hate, misery, war starving to death lack of jobs, Government controling issues that

really they should have no right to involve with certain issues that God said give ceasar things to cesar and Gods things to

God. What other reglion will you find that will stand up for their belief in believing in the word that Jesus said I came back to give

you ever lasting life. Surely or love and devotion is genuie and not part of the worlds way of thinking. We dont practice like the

other worlds around us. We adhere to the bible as being the truth. Even though as you feel or some who are involved with hurting and having problems with their families child abuse etc.these people will not inheriet Gods Kingdom. They have not been washed clean the still practice works

of the flesh. They have not really come to know Jehovah or his Son

    Thanks for listening
