anyone know what happened to him? is he still around and did he ever post here? When I was leaving the cancer in the early 90's some of his material came into my possession and his style of attack on the WTS was certainly hard core and not really suitable for someone lurking or in the very early stages of curiosity towards the WTS, and was he ever a Dub?

Duane and I speak from time to time on the phone or in emails. He is doing pretty well and keeps busy with Child Custody cases. Duane doesn't post very much at all on any of the boards, but has written 30 books and made several videos exposing the Watchtower.

    COUNTER-CULT ACTIVITY

Duane Magnani has extensive personal experience with the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses. He lived the lifestyle of a child of Jehovah's Witness parents from age 5 to 16 (1952-1964) and later briefly as an adult. Much of what he has testified to in court cases regarding the beliefs and practices of Jehovah's Witnesses, he has personally experienced. He also experienced these practices with hundreds of other Jehovah's Witness children and adults.

Since leaving the religion in 1974, Duane Magnani has interviewed numerous Jehovah's Witnesses and former Jehovah's Witnesses, adding to his knowledge of their beliefs and practices. In order to accurately present the beliefs and practices of Jehovah's Witnesses, he has accumulated the world's most comprehensive collection of their official publications outside of their world headquarters. Extensive research is based primarily on the reading of numerous books, magazines and internal documents published and written by Jehovah's Witnesses (the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Brooklyn, NY), including numerous court cases in which Jehovah's Witnesses have testified to their beliefs and practices.

Duane Magnani is the author of thirty published books and manuals and the creator and researcher for three popular videos and numerous shorter studies on the subject of Jehovah's Witnesses, from the sociological, historical and doctrinal perspectives. Included in his writings are three books specifically on the topic of Jehovah's Witnesses' children, two of which involve their lifestyle and involvement in custody cases.

Since 1975, Duane Magnani has been Director of Witness Inc., a comparative religion research organization, specializing in the sociological, historical and doctrinal teachings of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Witness Inc. is the oldest organization of its type in the field of research into cult activity and for over three decades has helped many find freedom from cult control. MAJOR ENDORSEMENTS

Duane Magnani has been interviewed as an expert on the subject of the lifestyle of Jehovah's Witnesses by numerous print, radio and television media, including the largest television news programs in the United States ("60 Minutes") and Canada ("The Fifth Estate"). One of his cases (Dodd v. Dodd, 1990) involving the issue of Jehovah's Witnesses and child custody was filmed for "Court TV", a nationwide production of American Lawyer magazine.

Leading professors and scholars in the field of comparative religion have endorsed his work of research into the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses. By way of example, one of the most respected published authors on the subject of cults and religions, Dr. Edmond C. Gruss, has stated: "As a college professor for thirty-six years and as the author of three books and a number of articles on the Witnesses myself, I believe that Mr. Magnani could well be the most well-informed person on the Jehovah's Witnesses in the world today (7/3/96)."

The leading counter-cult and research organizations recognize his writings as documentary evidence on the lifestyle of Jehovah's Witnesses. He has submitted research and documentation to Dr.Walter Martin of Christian Research Institute for his own court testimony as an expert witness on the lifestyle of the children of Jehovah's Witnesses. Dr. Martin (now deceased) was widely recognized as the world's leading authority in the field of research on cults and the author of the most prominent encyclopedic study, Kingdom of the Cults. In that book, he refers to Duane Magnani’s two-volume set, Dialogue with Jehovah's Witnesses, to support his conclusions. Numerous other authors have referred to his studies on the Jehovah's Witnesses. His book, The Watchtower Files (1985: Bethany House Publishers), received the book of the year award on "cults and new religions" from Cornerstone magazine.
