Jehovah's Witnesses sue RA Public Television

    January 15, 2011 - 11:40 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Christian religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses, as well as representatives of the organization submitted a claim against the Public Television of Armenia, as well as journalists Gevorg Altunyan, Sona Torosyan, Nune Alexanyan to the court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.

Director of the center of rehabilitation and aid for the victims of destructive cults Alexander Amaryan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that Jehovah’s Witnesses accuse the Public Television of Armenia of “publishing and disseminating wrong information concerning their honor and dignity.”

According to Amaryan, court hearings will start in January.

We would like to recall that 23-year-old resident of Sevan town Arman Torosyan, who killed his parents in November 2010, was declared a member of the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

While the organization will try to prove during the trial that the criminal is not a representatives of the organization and that similar aggressive

behavior is not typical for the organization members.

The same can be said about members of any religious organization, not just JWs. But the watchtower has pontificated about their 'high moral standards' for many decades, claiming to be so much better than everyone else.

When you set yourself up as a target, sooner or later someone's gonna shoot.

RA Public Television denies accusations of Jehovah’s Witnesses

    January 15, 2011 - 15:38 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Council of the Armenian Public Television and Radio Company (APTRC) Alexan Harutyunyan refrained from going into details concerning the case initiated against the Public Television of Armenia (PTA) by the Christian religious organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

“I would not like to present details of the case, as it will be discussed in court. In my opinion, the PTA has not committed any errors. I think we will prove it in court,” Harutyunyan told a press conference.

He noted that the criminal investigation initiated with respect to a murder in Sevan town will answer many questions. “The investigation has not ended yet, while the trial on our case has not been launched. I do not think it is expedient to provide additional information,” said Harutyunyan.

He noted that the PTA has not used abusive language towards the Christian religious organization. “We just stated, making a reference to information of NEWS.am agency, that the young man, who killed his parents, is a member of the organization of Jehovah’s Witnesses, according to evidences of his neighbors,” said Harutyunyan.

On December 9, 2010, the Christian religious organization of Jehovah's Witnesses submitted a claim against the Public Television of Armenia, as well as journalists Gevorg Altunyan, Sona Torosyan, Nune Alexanyan to the court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts. Specifically, they are accused of “publishing and disseminating wrong information concerning honor and dignity of Jehovah’s Witnesses.”

So the WTS is claiming he was never a JW. Were his parents Witnesses? Was he raised as one? Did he go out in service? Go to the meetings for 23 years? Did he have to avoid doing all the things Witness kids have to avoid?

If the answer to any one of those is YES then he was considered a Witness.

If he reported time in door to door, that closes the case. He's a rep of the wt corp.
