The problem has always been that the society just plainly does not know what the crap they

are talking, writing about. With some research of the literature you find that the society

has jumped all around the arrival, the taking the throne, the future comming for judgement and the

years have changed. I don't even think their writers even know what each other writes.

As the old saying goes, there are too many cooks in the kitchen.

I have been reading the older literature, it's like several different religions. The two groups thing is

biting them in the butt big time. I don't think jws today even know what the heck they believe

in, but they are in the truth.

Reading all these posts has made me hungry and thirsty, which can only mean one thing... I'm anointed.

The beauty of something like this is that I can start quoting and misquoting this crap and nobody in the local Kingdumb Haul is going to understand a word of it.

Matthew 24:45-47 talks about Jesus "arriving" to appoint the FDS, which the Society of course says happened in 1918, to appoint themselves "over all his belongings" (funny that). Yet they say in this absurd study article that Jesus hasn't yet "arrived" per 1 Cor 11:26. Just another example of how the WTS plays loose and fast with interpretation to suit their own ends.

The earlier question "how can Jesus be present but not have arrived?" perfectly sums up the absurdity of the WTS's contradictory patchwork on presence, coming, arrival, return, etc. It's a contrived, unscriptural mess and they know it. They have it all back to front. They have to invent forced interpretations to keep their whole 1914 illusory creed real.

The simple answer to solve the whole mess is:

    1. Dump the 'anointed' and 'non-anointed' classes myth - it's an unscriptural hoax! There is no such thing as a 'true Christian' who is not anointed. ALL 'true Christians' are in the new covenant, period. ALL Christians should partake of the emblems regardless of whether there hope is earthly or heavenly.
    2. Dump the whole 1914-1919 myth - it's an unscriptural hoax! Jesus has NOT returned, arrived, come, etc. Its a FUTURE event scripturally. Wake up and sniff the roses - your emperor is not wearing any clothes!

Paul also helps us to understand that those with an earthly hope do not partake of the Memorial emblems. [Wow, putting words in Paul's mouth...] He said to anointed Christians [although he just thought of them as plain old Christians]: "For as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the Lord, until he arrives." (1 Cor. 11:26) When does the Lord 'arrive'? When he comes to take the last of his anointed bride class to their heavenly home

This is ridiculous when you really look at it. First, they teach that Jesus "returned invisibly" in 1914. With absolutely no evidence whatsoever, they claim that the resurrection for the anointed started in 1919. The above quote now states that Jesus does not actually "arrive" until the last of the 'anointed' dies. When does this happen? well, according to the February 15, 2008 WT* , they say that some of these anointed will still be alive when the Great Tribulation begins. Since the WT does not subscribe to the idea that the anointed will "be caught up in the air to meet with the Lord", these ones would have to die a natural death before 'receiving their reward'. But what happens if even one of them survives the GT and Armageddon? That means that they would surivive into the Noo System of Things. In other words, Jesus would not "arrive" until after Armageddon----a totally absurd idea even in Dub-dumb Land.

    * "....Today, people who don't have the spiritual understanding think that there is nothing of "stunningly observable" as to the signs of Jesus' presence. They reason that all continues as before. (2 Peter 3:4)...... As a group, those anointed comprise the present "generation" of comtemporaries who won't pass away "until all the things come to pass". This indicates that some of anointed brothers of Christ will still be alive on earth when the foretold great tribulation begins."

I also find it quite typical that they take great liberty with the term "parousia" to suit the whim of whatever bizarre doctrine they're trying to promote. While they have generally deviated using "parousia" as "coming" (as they've repeatedly shown), and instead translated it as "presence", they did not do so in this case which leaves them with the perplexing problem of trying to explain away Jesus' "presence" and his "arrival". To anyone with an ounce of thinking power, the scripture in 1 Corinthians 11:26 that makes reference to his "arrival", is speaking of thesame event spoken of in Matthew 24:3, 27, 37, 1 Corinthians 15:23, 1 Corinthians 4:11 - 13, 1 Thess 2:19, 3:13, 5:23, 2 Thess 2:1, James 5:7, 8, 1 John 2:28, namely the Second Coming. Yet if the Watchtower were to teach that Jesus' 'arrival' happened in 1914, then that raises the obvious problem of why anyone is even still practicing the Memorial, as the scriptures state that Christians are supposed to do this only "until he arrives".

Rather than realize that they've painted themselves into yet another corner, they invent a succession of progressively bizarre theories, each of which are precipitated by phrases such as "apparently" and the ever-faithful "evidently". While this will be accepted by the average Witness, it leaves the Writing Department with a much needed loop-hole----their "Get Out of False Interpretation Free" card. When they paint themselves into yet another corner down the road, they can always fall back on "we never said for sure---we only said "evidently".

I truly don't think there is another 'Christian' faith that comes up with more bizarre explainations of simple scriptures than the WTB&TS.

see mary, that is truly the point, that is the reason they can say " ONLY WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE TRUE EXPLANATION OF THE BIBLE, BECAUSE JEHOVAH TOLD US PERSONALLY"........ OF COURSE IT IS DIFFERENT AND NOT I LINE WITH THE EVIL CHRISTIANS OF "THE WORLD"

THE MORE FARFETCHED THE IDEA, THE DEEPER THE RESEARCH AND UNDERSTANDING....

    Mary -

The proclaimers Book says that "Christ did not return (even invisibly) in 1914" p136

They now say that he "Turned his attention" to the Earth in 1914.

A talk given by one of the Gibbering Buddies, claimed that Jesus "comes" at different times in different capacities. (and I am capable of multiple sarcasm)

They are watching too much internet porn.

wow HB, I just looked up that proclaimers quote and it beggers belief! Here it is verbatim.

"They also came to understand that it was in the year 1914 that Christ’s invisible presence had begun and that this was, not by his personally returning (even invisibly) to the vicinity of the earth, but by his directing his attention toward the earth as ruling King."

Directing his attention!!!! What are these guys on?? So they make the complete assumtion that Christ "directed his attention toward the earth" based on - what?

The Great War? The preaching work? The invention of sewing machines and locomotives?

    What a load of crock!

And how come in 1914 they were still teaching Christ "returned" in 1874!

Considerning all the scriptures describe the return of Christ as very loud, highly visible and swift, how on earth can the WT continue to spout this tripe and get away with it? I'd hate to be in their shoes when Jesus does get here.

Which is a totally absurd idea......I wonder though: Is this something that is just mentioned at the ASSemblies or have they ever put it to print? I remember a few others on here who have also related that this idea of Jesus coming at seven different times has been mentioned from the platform. Since there is absolutely nothing in the scriptures that supports this idea, I'm just wondering what they're using to promote this idea.

As per usual, they talk out both sides of their mouth. On one hand, they claim Jesus' arrival is when the 'last of the anointed dies', yet their own literature claims that Jesus' arrival happened in 1914:

"...Jesus’ arrival would mark the beginning of “the harvest” of wheatlike Christians. That would be a mark of the ‘conclusion of the system of things,’ which began in 1914."----October 15, 2000 Watchtower p. 26 Working in the "Field"--Before the Harvest

"...In keeping with these prophecies Jesus Christ likened himself to a nobleman who went to a far country to receive a kingdom and then returned, thereby clearly tying in the beginning of God’s kingdom with the return of Christ. When was he to return? In answer to that question Jesus gave the prophecies recorded at Matthew 24, 25, Mark 13 and Luke 21. Among the various evidences marking the sign of his return Jesus listed wars, famine, earthquakes and pestilence. He also foretold that lawlessness would greatly increase and that “this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for the purpose of a witness to all the nations.” The facts show that all these words of Jesus are seeing a most striking fulfillment since the year 1914."---- May 15 1960 Watchtower p. 311 Jehovah Has Become King

"....At the time of Jesus’ arrival [in 1914], some 5,000 domestics were busy spreading Bible truth. The workers were few, but the slave used a number of ingenious methods to spread the good news. (Matthew 9:38) For example, arrangements were made for sermons on Bible topics to be published in up to 2,000 newspapers.....In 1914, for example, some 50,000 copies of this journal were published. Yes, when the Master arrived, he found his faithful slave conscientiously feeding the domestics as well as preaching the good news. --- March 1, 2004 Watchtower pp. 11-12 pars. 16-18 A “Slave” Who Is Both Faithful and Discreet

Jesus Christ (no pun intended)----can't they get anything right????

The problem has always been that the society just plainly does not know what the crap they

I agree. In fact, the problem is far worse, what they teach plainly goes against the very bible they claim to be teaching.

See a selection of verse for example.

    John 10:16 (New International Version)

16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

    Romans 1:16 (New International Version)

16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

    Romans 9:23-25 (New International Version)

23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? 25 As he says in Hosea:
    "I will call them 'my people' who are not my people;
and I will call her 'my loved one' who is not my loved one,"

    John 11:51-52 (New International Version)

51 He did not say this on his own, but as high priest that year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the Jewish nation, 52 and not only for that nation but also for the scattered children of God, to bring them together and make them one.

    Romans 10:11-13 (New International Version)

11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

The bible is clearly talking about the Jews and the Gentiles as the two flocks.

    Blessings,

    Stephen
