By Melissa Fryer. The Jehovah's Witnesses will be bringing a message of deliverance during their two conferences scheduled this month for Beban Park. ... Jun 08 2006 I3,000 PEOPLE expected this weekend. The Jehovah's Witnesses will be bringing a message of deliverance during their two conferences scheduled this month for Beban Park. And they want people from all across Vancouver Island to join them, and hear that message. More than 3,000 Jehovah's Witnesses from Victoria to Port Hardy will converge on Nanaimo for the first of two district conventions at Frank Crane Arena June 9-11. Another 3,000 delegates are expected at the following convention June 23-25, also in Nanaimo. "It's the largest convention that comes to Nanaimo every year," said spokesman Shanon Maurer. The program will emphasize that mankind needs deliverance from the effects of inherited sin and its consequences. Talks and workshops will comfort people by emphasizing God's love and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The program includes a baptism ceremony on Saturday (June 10) and a Bible-based drama presentation on Sunday (June 11). The drama will showcase what is meant by loyalty to God. Sunday will also feature a speaker who will discuss why there is a greater need now for deliverance and how God will provide salvation. Jehovah's Witnesses is a Christian religion that believes living by Bible principles brings people closer to God, promotes strong family ties and makes productive, honest citizens. People who wish to hear what the group has to say can go to any session at either convention. The site is open to the public. No collection is ever taken. Morning sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. and afternoon sessions at 2 p.m. [email protected] contact reporter

clifford wrote:just how is jehovahs witnesses any diffrent than any other religion...they all got a sells gimick that makes them the only true religion..and if you donate enough money...you can live agin..no one can dispute that because no one has died been buried ...and lived to tell about it

    Danny's reply:
Exactly! Jehovah's Witnesses are no better (and more miserable and oppressive) than any 'other' religion. You will all grow old and die just like everybody else, you will not 'live forever in a paradise on earth'
BTW your cult leaders say ony 144,000 of your elite bosses go to heaven, which means 99.9% of JW's will just rot in the grave.

My gosh your religion sucks!-Danny Haszard

    Witnesses gather for convention
Vernon Morning Star, Canada - 19 minutes ago
Jehovah's Witnesses in Vernon extend an invitation to everyone to attend the 2006 Deliverance at Hand Convention starting June 16 at the Multiplex. ... By Cara Brady Morning Star Staff Jun 09 2006 Jehovah's Witnesses in Vernon extend an invitation to everyone to attend the 2006 Deliverance at Hand Convention starting June 16 at the Multiplex. "It's part of a global campaign now underway to advertise the Deliverance at Hand Convention programs that will be held in 155 lands," said Larry Gray, an elder with one of the seven local Jehovah's Witness congregations, which include Lumby and Winfield. "Building on the scriptural basis set out in Acts 20:20 for their house-to-house work of Bible education, the Witnesses would like to have millions of their neighbours worldwide benefit from the invitation. At these conventions they have the opportunity to hear a message of comfort and hope which Romans 15:4 explains is one reason why the Bible was written." Jehovah's Witnesses believe global effort is needed to help people understand that mankind needs deliverance from the effects of inherited sin and its consequence death and they feel that only God can bring about that kind of deliverance. The program explains Jesus' role in delivering mankind and reviews various Bible accounts of deliverance. There will be a special focus on passages describing the hope of survival during God's fast-approaching day of reckoning. The Deliverance at Hand Convention runs June 16 to 18 with the morning sessions starting at 9:30 a.m. each day. On Friday and Saturday the afternoon sessions will begin at 2 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. All convention sessions are open to the public and are free. No collection is ever taken. For more information call Gray at 545-1764.
