I don't have all the facts yet, but it appears my Watch Tower Quotes web site is down.

It was up just a couple of hours ago, but now it is gone (go ahead and see for yourself: http://quotes.watchtower.ca/
It appears that the file directories have been changed to have .DMCA added to the end of them, so I assume that the web host has received a properly formed DMCA take down request. I can not acces those directories (but don't worry, I have everything stored safely elsewhere).
I have not yet received any notice (i.e. email) from my web host. IIRC, the DMCA does not require them to notify me before closing me down, but only to advise me in a reasonalbe amount of time that it has been done, so I expect an email soon. Don't be angry with the web host, they are just doing their job and trying to avoid being named in a suit.
I intend to file a DMCA objection response, which means the web host will then restore the files; it also would mean that WTS has 14 days to formally sue me with copyright infringement (i.e. "put up or shut up")
I can't wait. Can you see the headlines? Watch Tower Society does not want people to actually read those mags they've been trying to give away for 125 years

I think that to go ahead with a suit they'd have to prove economic damages, and how can they be damaged when they give this stuff away for free? If I can help, let me know. Maybe we need a letter writing campaign to all our local news outlets.
