Re: Father's Touch Fantastic job This was an excellent short. The music was a strong enhancement to the visuals. It increased in intensity and waned to create the desired mood. It also had an eerie quality to support the story-line. The subtle shattering sound was both poignant and prophetic in relation to the theme. The camera work was well done. Every scene was clear, vivid, and crisp. The POV shots were a nice style that pulled me into the film. I did feel the middle shots with the woman flashed a bit too quick. I also would have liked a bit more definition to the plot. The plot was clear to me because I read the production notes. Although the impact would still have been strong if I hadn't read them, I might not have fully understood the man was reminiscing about his childhood. Also, the abuse to the child was left to my imagination rather than visualized. Still, it was a powerful piece. The rather innocuous shot of the home and the end shot of the woman in the mirror had tremendous impact. Fantastic job. -- November 8, 2003 - 8:52 PM Review Id: 598664 |
