Jim_TXUnwitnessing - over the weekend

Saturday morning, I was on my way to my Aunts' house. I stopped in the grocery store in a nearby small town.

On the way inside, I passed three teenaged gals exiting the store - and something triggered - "JWs." I laughed at my paranoia - but continued inside, where I did my shopping.

Upon exiting, I noticed a parked pickup truck, and a lady standing there, preaching to some poor soul - trapped inside their own vehicle. She had some... Watchtower in her hands - as she preached.

I immediately scanned the parking lot, and locked onto a likely mini-van. Sure enough, when the lady had given the magazine to the poor trapped person, she walked back to the minivan.

I think it was their 'break time', as they were sitting in the minivan with sodas and donuts.

Anyway, I had the UN NGO article with me - that explained the association with the WTBTS. I mentally did a 'Should I?' or 'Shouldn't I?'... and decided... what the heck! I should!

I fired up my VW diesel beetle, and swung around alongside the minivan. I grabbed the 2-page printout, and hopped out of my car.

I walked up (actually, I stride) to the minivan, and knocked on the passenger's window. (The lady was sitting there who had just returned from bothering the poor person.)

She was a bit flustered, as the window wouldn't work with the key off - and so finally opened her door.

I said, "Here is something for YOU to read. It is about the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society's involvement with the U.N."

She mumbled, "Oh. Thanks.", and took it. (You could see 'Watchtower Bible & Tract Society" in the body of the first paragraph.)

I turned, and left - striding back to my VW and drove away.

Now... will she read it? Perhaps. *grin*

Regards,

Jim TX

P.S. I wonder if I can turn in a 'Field Service Report' - with a negative 5 minutes on it... and get them to take it off my totals of 20+ years ago? *wider grin*

Jim, good for you! Un-witnessing comes so much more naturally and easier!

If the unfortunate witnessed-to person was still there, I may have given them a copy of the UN information as well. I try to undo any "progress" a witless might have done.

Naaaw... that's one thing I DON'T want to do. Those folks have been bothered enuf. I don't want to really irritate them.

Well done Jim, it just shows the value of the Kingdom Ministry advice, to always carry a piece of literature in the glove box because, well you never know.

That was real Texan courage. I love it

good work, Jim,

you know she probably trashed it as soon as possible and said a prayer to ward off any demons!

Yep, good work.  We all should be as prepared as Jim to share in the informal apotisizing work.  It's also funny that you knew exactly how to spot them, in minivan, of course.

Well... I 'spotted' them before I even saw their minivan.

I dunno why... I guess I'm still attuned to 'spot' them in a crowd... or perhaps it's that they sorta ... stick out?? Difficult to explain.

I saw the teenagers first - three of them - coming outta the Super S store - carrying a bag of sodas and their little 2 or 3 yr old sister.

They just looked... JW-ish. (Not Jewish... *grin*)

They were in the minivan back seats when I left the material with the 'mom' in the front passenger seat.

As far as being 'prepared'... I had REALLY intended to give it to a couple that appear at the local coffee shop/restaurant on Saturday mornings prior (or instead of) to going to the meeting for field swervice at their local KH (wherever that is). They weren't there that morning... or I missed 'em.
