This is documented in the literature that was distributed between 1917-1919. And many of the ones who were around that time testify to it. And if I'm not mistaken, it's mentioned in the United Stated VS IBSA trial trsnacripts,

Does anyone have any more information or references concerning this? It is important to bring this information out of obscurity!

This also is consistent with the reason Beth Sarim was constructed, to get Rutherford AWAY from Bethel Brooklyn, because he was interferring too much in the operations!

Apparently, after being around Rutherford for awhile, people would develope a desire that he would just "GO AWAY!"

If this is true, then why did Charles include Rutherford's name in his will? I smell bulls**t here...

Never heard of it. All I know is when Russell died in October 31st, 1916, Judge Rutherford, who became the next President, wrestled power from opposing board members, deleted all democratically-elected elders. Membership plunged until he compelled those who remained to recruit extensively from door-to-door. His death occurred January 8, 1942 in San Diego.

Guess where he died? That's right, Beth Sarem.

Rutherford used the 1925 false prophecy to the ressurrection of the "men of old", such as Abraham, David, etc. as an excuse to purchase the land and built the house and he even deeded the house to them. After Rutherford died, the WTS quietly sold the house because it was an embarrassing reminder of their false prophecy. The house still stands today.

    JahSword,

Russell did NOT name Rutherford to take charge in his will. As Yizu pointed out, Rutherford wrested control by bullying and making the claim that Russell's will was not really a "will" at all and that the directors Russell named were not "legally" named. If Rutherford truly believed Russell was the one and only mouthpiece for Jehovah God himself, then why did he not follow the Last Will And Testament of that very same mouthpiece?

Hint? The Jehovah's Witness religion is not from God. Isn't now. Never was.

Well SOJ, if it isn't true, why are there still Bible Students around practicing the same religion that Charles Russell introduced 30 years prior to his death? Who changed? Certainly not the Bible Students.

SOJ, if you look closely at the will, Rutherford name was added. Russell leaves the WWatchtower into the hands of a seven man board of directors, to which Rutherford was not listed. He then goes on to list a five man editorial board. However, thereare six names listed. Guess whose name is on the list? Rutherford. With the help of MacMillan and VanAmburgh, Rutherford's cohorts, he managed to wrestle the Society away from those whom Russell entrusted. Have you ever read the "presidency papers" These were papers written between 1917-1918, interesting reading. In fact, the Story the Society tells today, complete contradicts what was said in 1917. At least the Bible Stuents have been consistent. Sticking to their version. While the Society has altered their time and time again with each new history they write. These papers can be viewed online at the BIble Students Online website: Bible Student History RR

Seems to me that the old light shines brighter than all the new light that comes out of Brooklyn.........or is it Patterson now?

Every time I turn around there is something new to me that makes me all the happier that I am no longer a part of the borg.

I thank you guys who have more intellect and smarts than I do for the research that you do. alt Why oh why can't the rest of the dubs see the "truth"? All they have is the "troof". ........Something smells in Brooklyn..........or is it Patterson?
