The more you think about the New System and "paradise", the less appealing it becomes. Big Ray, of Witnessesonline once posted on Witnet that the estimate of population after everyone worthy had been resurrected would be about 20 billion. Of course, Jehovah would supposedly make a lot more land area livable, but the definition of "livable" leaves much to be desired.

I can remember the publications stating that everyone living on earth would be able to have approximately one acre of land. As a child, one acre seemed like an estate to me...especially since I grew up in a typical suburb. We had a large backyard, but it was much smaller than an acre--probably about 1/3 acre.

On this one acre, each resident would need to build a house, and would need to plant a garden to supply themselves with food. On this one acre, also, would need to reside any animals that the person desired as companions--horses, cows, dogs, cats, lions, etc.

While the publications pointed out that 1/4 acre of land should be sufficient (with perfect soil conditions) to grow food for one person, they fail to accommodate the needs of any herbivorous animals the person would keep as companions. Since moving to the country and acquiring several horses, I've learned that each horse needs a MINIMUM of two acres to ensure sufficient grazing area. Since each person would have only one acre to provide everything, hay supplementation would be necessary. So where would there be room in this "paradise" for the vast acreage needed for hay production. Of course, hay would also be needed for every other animal in creation....and in the wild (the lion will eat straw just like the ox).

This wouldn't exactly be an agricultural society, since there would be no room for any agriculture--other than vegetable gardens.

So....people can look forward to living forever without marriage or sex or raising children, and without animal companions because they will have no room to care for them. They'll also be forced to live in a worldwide suburb with no place to go to enjoy any space or freedom.
