Yes, Beth Sarim is in private ownership.  A lawyer currently owns it and is well aware of the significance of the property.  In fact, there is a plaque by the front door that was placed by the local government(?) noting that the house is of historical significance.  The owners often see people slowly driving past the property and has often had people knocking on their door asking them if they know about the history.  They would prefer to be left alone.

This is Beth Sarim from a Mapquest image I downloaded (prior to most mapping sites spinning off the aerial view part).  I believe it is the last red tile roof house on the north side before the bend

sphere,

I'm from San Diego, and I've visited the place countless times.  Perhaps you might enjoy this little bit of history about it:

I thought Michael Jackson bought it and turned it into his Wonder Land Ranch.

From reading Farkels post a couple of years ago, I have the address for Beth Sarim at 4440 Braeburn Rd.

Does anyone know the address of the other house nearby, I believe called Beth Sham?

freedom96.,

Several years ago, I tried to make my trek to Beth Shan. I located the neighborhood off Fairmont avenue and trekked up to a gated community. I had an old picture of the property in my possession. The security guard in that luxury community told me no such property existed on their land.

I was then  told by a friend of mine that Beth Shan was demolished in the late 1990's and a new home was built in its stead.  One 5,000 square foot mansion was replaced by another unknown square foot mansion.....

(I wonder if the bomb shelter by the goat shed is still there. I suspect it is, even though I'm sure the goat shed is gone. Goat sheds are not worth much in the 1990's era in San Diego on prime land in Mission Valley.)

Randy? A little help here? Jan Groenveld is gone. Do you know any more about this, Randy?
