	This comment of yours reminded me about a wonderful and idealistic brother in my congregation, who was converted through the door-to-door witnessing. He began studying with JWs after teaching at an Ivy League university for more than three decades. This fellow was a PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSOR!!! Obviously, the brainwashing techniques the WTS uses are highly sophistcated All thought reform techniques used by the cults are sophisticated to some degree or another ..... we had a brother going through psych when I was studying, and he had avoided Social Psych likethe plague once he got into 3rd year and only did what was absolutely necessary .... Why? Because 2nd year had challenged him too much But we had a couple of professors and a few almost professors who were caught up in one cult or another. We had one of the Orange People ... now called Osho .... a couple of TMrs ... were so spaced out you thought they were lecturing in their sleep and one who was right into Scientology of all things. It is't how intelligent you are that saves you from being caught up. It is comsumer awareness that makes the difference .... even professors can be made to sign on the dotter line by a good salesman! We don't teach our young how to be really consumer aware of the manipulation use by advertising, salesperson, cults etc etc. When we do that fewer and fewer people will get caught. If you watch here and on other chat boards you can see how influence works when you see people being influenced into one position or another and then after being able to think more about it, change their minds. At least on boards like this we have the opportunity to go away and think .... and we also have the opportunity now on the internet to do a little more research than we did when access to material was not so easy.
