Just saw it (tried to tape it, but taped Simpsons instead - Dohh!!!) I must say, if Robert Souter wasn't in gaol and still lived in Wollongong, his life expectancy would be dramatically reduced after today's broadcast. Wollongong has a direct way of dealing with high profile paedophiles...

It was a great and hard-hitting programme - they didn't pull any punches and basically covered all the details needed to know when trying to understand the Society's reasoning. Saw a few familiar faces. I really hope this creates a backlash and starts getting the police and the Department of Community Services to ask some serious questions about the records of all this stuff that the society has on file.

P.S. The Sunday programme is on again this afternoon at 1:30pm on Sky News, for those with pay tv.

The only person I knew was Morris Hadlee. Coverup elder extraordinair. He wasnt as smart as the other elder who just refused to comment at all. Morris had to remonstrate. He always was an arrogant Bastard. I loved it at the end where he asked the interviewer, "Who appointed you as the judge of correct behaviour"?or words to that effect.

I would have said "Well, we all know who appointed YOU Morris....GOD!" .

The way they juxtaposed the victims statements as to why they kept silent, with the elders statements denying they had told the victims to keep silent was great. It was clear as day that the elders were doublespeaking.

Loved the bit where the Oz head of the WT was being filmed by the camera crew and made a speech about how DECEPTIVE and SATANIC the media was.

Yes, the other elder (John Wingate?) had obviously rehearsed his lines for just such an occasion - either he was tipped off, or had planned this response to annoying questions ever since the Judge threw the book at him and his fellow elders for their handling of the Souter case.

LOL It'd certainly be worth a giggle - imagine my very first visit to a KH being like that!

I thought it was most clear that those elders are little opinionated men who know NOTHING about psychological trauma, nervous breakdown or psychology and they are simply not qualified to deal with such matters. They were just jumped up little SHOE SALESMEN and BACKHOE OPERATORS
