In my discussions with loya JWs, it has been amazing to see that many don't realize that the core of the doctrine about the use of blood derives form Gen 9:4. This might be due to the Society gradually distancing itself from explaining things based on the Noachian command, with the benefit of the hindsight of JW practices with regard to blood and blood products. It becomes increasingly difficult, for instance, to state that "The Bible is very clear that blood could properly be used only on the altar; otherwise it was to be poured out on the ground. (Lev. 17:11-13)" and still be able to explain why albumin and other so called tiny fractions of fractions of blood are acceptable. I may not be up to date about this, but it seems the Society has almost succeeded in de-anchoring the position on blood from Noah.
