Just a simple question.

Why the " R&F" of the JW's have

not been told, informed through

the pages of  the publications,

the names and the persons

responsibles for the newly  formed

- end of  the year 2000 -

corporations, associations etc.?

Why such a ' secrecy'?

when i was at bethel it was constantly repeated to you that information in the org is on a  NEED TO KNOW BASIS.

 

I worked on new summer releases and my roommate never knew what the release was till the speaker raised his hand up on  the platform showing him the convention the book

 

i could get kicked out of bethel by telling folks the name of the new releases it was considered runnning ahead of THE SLAVE

 

SO since the avg jw has little to do with the purpose or role of these new corps, once again the wt has seen fit to operate off a NEED TO KNOW BASIS

 

but i fully agree with you it is so sad that such a loving arrangement by jah has not even been told the the avg jw

Interesting Stuff...Mac! The reason was to relieve the GB, as was, of certain duties so they could concentrate on the more important things! I have seen no evidence of anything they have done that makes a difference. They still stumbled over the UN thing and are hardly proactive with the paedophile issues. So what are the GB...doing?

It's like that D&D spell "Mirror Image".. The magic-user casts it, and suddenly 8 images of him appear.  A monster attacking him doesn't know which is the real one, has to destroy them all to get the real mage.  This way when someone wants to sue the borg they have to sue all 8 borgs.

You have the Watchtower of New York incororated in 1909.  Technically this is not correct.  The People's Pulpit Association was incorporated in 1909.  It was reorganized  in the 1940s under the Watchtower of NY.  The PPA was dissolved.

It was written about it in the WT dealing with the Annual meeting, and there was a letter read to the congregations, AND there were some lines on it at the circuit convention. So I really don't think anybody were kept in the dark on this.

If I were to file a lawsuit against the WT which of these bodies should I pick?

That's probably why they split up their org to make it harder for someone to sue them.

Anyone know of any good lawyers in Europe? If I were to sue would I have to sue the Main Office (one of 7 below) or one of the Branch Offices?

Isn't 7 a perfect number acc. to the WT?

Have not all the congregations also been "encouraged" to incorporate themselves as separate entities with separate charitable organization status?

It would be a very clever way to diffuse legal and financial accountability, for example, if a publisher in congregation XYZ decided to sue the Society for its 'policies' on child molestation, or wrongful disfellowshipment, or slander. The WTS would claim no responsibility for decisions made by the body of elders in congregation XYZ, and thereby protect the $951 million in its coffers. Congregation XYZ has no money other than what publishers donate to cover expenses - any surplus is donated to the WTS for the "worldwide preaching work". The person seeking justice and/or compensation is SOL because their lawyer tells them "you can't get blood from a stone". The lawsuit is dropped. The WTS wins again.

It's just sickening how the WTS cares more about its money than it does about justice for people who have suffered so horribly because of WTS policies.

A good lawyer wouldn't let all these different corporations slow them down.   You just sue 'em all.

Ive  gone through some material and youre right.

 

The book Jehovahs Witnesses in the Divine purpose

page 48,   states :

 

 So after proper application , on February 23, 1909, the Peoples

Pulpit Association was  given legal identity as decreed by New

York Supreme Court Justice N. Miller (g)

footnote g :

 The certificate of  incorporation was filed and recorded March 4,1909.

February 6, 1939 the corporations name was legally changed to Watchtower

Bible and Tract Society Inc. ; and January 16, 1956, to its

present name, Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc.

 

I hope this clarification , will help everyone.

You know come to think of it, even the Watch Tower  ws reorganized after Russell's eath.  In Russell's day it was just "Watch Tower Bible and Trcat Society, today it is called WTB&TS of PA.  Not sure when though.
