I was sjust chatting with a current member fo the borg, and the subject turned to C. T. Russell and where he is buried.
She said that the pastor is not buried in Allegeny Pa. and is not buried at the triangular representation of an acient building (he he fancy way of saying Pyrimid), anyway he said his grave is in Albany NY in a cematary for the WTS bethelites. Is this another scam the WTS is running, I have seen his gravestone and such in Pics, and it is in PA not NY. Any take on this?? Or is this person all screwed up (which I'm sure she is).
The entire issue of Zion's Watch Tower for December 1916 was devoted to Russell's funeral services. (See Harvest Truth Database V5.0) A service was held in New York, then Russell's body was taken to Pittsburg, Pennsylvania for another service. Then his remains were buried out of Pittsburg at the Rosement Cemetery. Whether the cemetery was actually in Allegheny the article does not state.
I have been to Russell's gravesite in the Pittsburgh, PA area. It is in the North Hills. I have pictures of it and my brother-in-law video taped our visit to Russell's site. The pyramid is huge and can be seen from the road as you enter the cemetery.
I think your friend is confused. At Watchtower Farms there is a cemetery where many of the "anointed ones" are buried. The Bethelites refer to it as "the launching pad". I have visited that cemetery also.
Ya know what's kinda funny, is her description of the gravestone was almost identical to the one in PA, with his picture on the headstone and all, it just does not have a pyrimid next to it. She said she had been to it in NY. I have seen the pictures of the one in PA, and there is not doubt it is his and set up by the WTS.
But, I wouldn't put it past the borg to try and avoid the pyrimid thing, so perhaps they set up a fake grave in NY. I mean they have dumped everything else he believed in and did, then lied about it and said it never happened. It would be interesting to find out if there is a headstone in NY for ol CT
