Hi Nathan,The Watchtower Society only cites seven officers. I cited "Hirsh" as the "Eighth" in error because I forgot about DeCecca. There were actually nine (9) originally charged, with the charges against Hirsh later being dropped. Here are the seven that the Society cites:
Joseph Franklin Rutherford - A.Hugh MacMillan - William E. Van Amburgh - Robert J. Martin - Fredrick H. Robinson - George H. Fisher - Clayton J. Woodworth.
Sometime I recall the Society referring the one charged and convicted as Rutherford and seven officers, which would add up to eight. But I have not yet found references which clarify this issue. The eighth convict was Giovanni DeCecca ... he was also investigated by the US Attorney's office to determine if he had criminal ties from an earlier career, but nothing was proven [Transcript pg. 68, Item 204] ... I have no idea why the Society eliminated him from the original list, unless there was something embarassing about his background, or he was not sentanced to twenty years as were the other seven ... or maybe they like the number sever (7) for prophetic application purposes ... or who knows. The ninth one charged is Hirsh. Oddly enough, I don't recall finding Hirsh's full name anywhere. Anyway, Hirsh not only enjoyed having the charges against him dropped ... he is not listed on the witness list for either side ... but I have a vague recollection he testified ... I will have to scan the Transcript again to see what exactly happened.Jim W.
