This was written by Izzat Majeed, a Pakistani writer, with slight changes made by yours truly. The words ring so true with those changes in defining the intransigence of the WTS, though:

All that the Mullahs Governing Body tells you today is how to go back a millennium many milleniums...Oxford and Cambridge were the "madrasas" of Christendom in the 13th century. Look where they are today---among the leading institutions of education in the world. Where are our institutions of learning?"

There are some similarities..but the WTS has not 'stood still'! In fact that has been half the problem...the darn religion keeps moving its goal posts. You can also say that its doctrines, eschatology etc..are 'evolving'. (cf. blood policy and 'generation' teaching.)

Great post. Every time I read some fundy Christian, or infidel spouting religious speak, Iam tempted to edit their words, just as you have done. It really works, only names, titles, and places seem to be affected.

Perfect example of why the whole religious debate is just an exercise in futility. What a monumental waste of time.
