Several years ago this site was started by an active witness. Stemming from the opportunity to speak freely, many (MANY!) have begun to leave the organization that we belonged to our whole lives. We each have varying degrees of difficulty in leaving.
It sounds like you are not a witness yourself. You may not know that when someone decides to leave the organization of jehovah's witnesses, they risk being FOREVER cut off from association with life-long friends and all JW family.
Those of us who grew up in the religion were told to never, ever criticize the information presented. We were not to question it either. Thus, we did not fully develop the critical thinking skills that are necessary to succeed in life.
Weekly posts like Blondie prepares helps many people. It helps them to keep a critical eye on what they are hearing from the platform. With the development of that ability, individuals can decide for themselves if they really are hearing the 'truth'. Additionally, by calling attention to the catch phrases and the critical analysis of each article, those of us who still attend or have family still in can use the information to help our loved-ones start thinking for themselves.
I know it may look like continual JW bashing. But if you have not been 'in', you cannot really know what it is like to leave. Can you?
