Good grief! Can they not see their fingers are pointing back directly at themselves? Are they THAT blind, or are they just a lying pack of self-serving evil hypocrites? Perhaps that is a false dilemma, but what other possibilities could there be?
Many members of the Writing know that something is amiss, some are still sympathetic to Ray Franz, some have against overwhelming odds managed to keep a spark of spontaneous sincerity and human feeling alive in their hearts. I am quite sure these statements slipped through during an editorial Siesta!Larc,It was a fun time for a bunch of young boys, and that is all there was to it. My point is, that an innocent activity for a child is condemned, but a not so innocent activity for the organization is OK by the double standards of the organization.
Your comments made me feel quite sad. For years after my induction into the WTS, I would look back at my youth, and the freedoms allowed by my non-JW parents with a feeling of nostalgia that I now realise was actually emotional pain. On another thread Farkel mentioned the collective depression that many JW's live with, I suspect so much of this has to do with the manner in which we are taught to sneer at anything that is not WTS shaped. Thank you for your comments. Yes, and so much of the 'paper-trail' is coming back to haunt them. Pre Internet days it was close to impossible to find out this sort of information but these days everybody has equal access to information. The WTS real enemy is knowledge, they fear it beyond measure as it becomes the instrument for unravelling truth and exposing the fact that the WTS is more a political than a religious system. The flow cannot be stopped. Trickling lurkers will eventually become a flood. I am personally aware of a CO who has searched the Net in recent months and is presently in an emotional uproar due to what he has uncovered.Best to you all - HS
