M Scott Peck states in "The road less travelled" that all kids are terrified of being abandoned, as abandonment for a child = death.
I was brought up as a dub from age 7 and it took me years afterwards to rid myself of this fear of abandonment. Normally one works through this at puberty, but dub kids don't have the luxury of a normal puberty so they carry a lot of childish stuff around with them as adults. That is, IMO, why they are so immature.
