Lady LeeThe Best of ... series


I am in the process of creating a Best of series of posts. Various posters who have been here have posted great information concerning some topics.

As I post the new Best of series you will find that some series follow the posts of a certain person (JanG who wrote some great recovery info or AlanF and Farkel with the workings of the WTS. But later I will be posting the Best of Scandals   thread which will include a wide variety of posters who have contributed to a certain area of info.

If you have ideas for various issues that would be helpful to you let me know and I will see what I can do.

I have read a lot of comments about various posters who contributed a lot in the beginning of here and at H2O. Some of the work they did laid a great foundation for the body of knowledge that now exists about cults and the WTS. New folks still need some of that info and it would be great to have a one-stop thread that would link us to the info we want.

If during your wanderings through the old threads you see an issue you would like a "Best of..." series done post it here with the link to the thread (so I don't have to go ahunting)

My fellow mods have proven they are smarter than me. The series will eventually go into the LINKS section of the boards - "LInks" in the Links section.

I think we may start on the subject threads which will take a bit longer and will go directly into the Links section. I say "we" because I hope other people will join in the work. The wealth of information here is unbelievable. If you are interested in researching a particular subject let me know. (Gets me off the hook for the one you want to do)

If you are a person who has posted some great material in the past and want it in one of the Best of threads feel free to go through your posts for us. Believe me I won't mind at all.

One note. I found a few threads where the opening post was a link to info on another board. If I followed the link and the info was not available I did not include that thread in the Best of... series. No poiunt in taking people to dead ends. Kent falls into this category. I was very disappointed because the wealth of information on this site seemed enormous but all the links I checked were broken.

One person I have not and won't include in the series is Undisfellowshipped. Not because his work isn't useful. I think it is very useful. His ability to cut and paste lengthy collections of quotes from the WT literature is wonderful. But a quick glance at his membership says it all

Thanks once again for this terrific information at a mouse click! I KNOW I will be checking these out often, just as I do "Quotes"!

I'm not sure if this would be something you're looking for but I'll toss it out just in case:

How about links that would be for lawsuits like the Stratton case and the pedophile cases to prove to "others" just how REAL these things are, and how many have been hurt by the WTS attitude.

Another would be a compilation of WTS lies and deceptions, predictions, etc that would be helpful in our proving each point when necessary. So many times I know of a WT article or paragraph which is so outrageous, but I can't remember where I saw it---and I have to let the moment go by (and I hate that! LOL) when I have something SO great to refute something but I don't know where to find it--arrgh!

You'd think as long as I've been debating JWs that I'd have everything committed to memory (HAH!) but I'm getting more forgetful the older I get! Now that I'm old enough to get it all together---I forgot where I PUT it! (sigh)

I just want to add something here. As I am going through the older threads I have seen some remarkable posts by various posters. Some posters tend to stay mainly with one topic and hence will wind up with a named thread.(Lee Elder almost always posts on blood issues, JanH, AlanF, Farkel almost always post on doctrinal issues, JanG, larc and I almost always post on recovery issues) 

But most of the posters here will wind up in a wide variety of threads as you will begin to see. It takes a bit more work to find the gems that many of you have posted.

You are all a great asset to this board. Thanks to all of you who have shared your insights with us and to those who continue to share so others can be really free of the controls of this cult.

Just a  note about the series and the links I am including

I have come across a few posts that could belongs in a couple of different categories. Sometimes I will make a decision and put it in one or the other but on occassion I will post it in BOTH categories. So don't be too surprised if you find a post in two places.

I also want you to know I am not just looking for old posts. Basically I am looking at everyone who has over 500 posts and I have about 400 of you still to go. So I expect I will be a while at it. And just so the people at the end of tha alphabet aren't last like always I am mixing up the alphabet so one day I will work on all the "A"s and the next time I might work on "X" or "J".

When I get to the experiences don't be surprised if you get a PM from me. Especially if you have your story scattered across the forum in a variety of threads (yours or other people's).. If you DON"T want your experience/story in the Best of series please let me know.
