Better with a board for 'popular, big' topics, not just 'active' ones

This site needs a category/board for big, popular threads, say, ones that hit 30 posts or more.

The 'active' topics board is misleading because it always has a lot of crap threads that never get beyond a few posts and are not really 'active' at all, but they get deemed 'active' because they are brand new threads that get or two posts by other members in quick succession.  I get sick of having to wade through these.

And an otherwise very big, important thread could drop off the 'active' list simply because no one posts on it for a while. Thus people keep nagging to find where a thread is on some recent big subject. If a 'big threads' catergory was created they wouldn't have to do that.

Doubt this will get implemented if the site is closing down soon.

I agree Yadda, I think some important threads have come to a premature end for the reasons you stated, perhaps the site will rise phoenix like and incorporate your excellent suggestion, I do hope so.
