sorry about the upset, mate.... it really could be a function of aging more than any personal attack against your integrity
my grandmother, by then in mid-90's, had my brother, who was her caretaker, escort me and my husband out of her house after a visit, to be "sure they dont steal anything".....
for the record, she was one of those "hoarders" and the laugh was " how on earth would she ever even KNOW if something went missing!!??
