Yes, it's all a matter of faith isn't it. If a person dosn't have faith that Russell was God's spokesman or that the bible is "really" the word of God. That's why it is illogical of you to make a defense in the first place if you can't establish the very foundation on which your logic rest.
Archeaology establishes that the bible in not God's word, unless God is a cruel pratical joker.
If we look at Russell's writtings without "rose colored glasses" or preconcieved ideas that he was "God's mouth piece" a different picture emerges,, and it is not a very pretty one.
