kzjwPolitical references from the Podium? / Patterson pump me up

For you who may attend the "talks" on Sundays..Is anyone noticing the "political neutrality" doctrine is being used quite a bit?  5 out of the last 7 weeks at my wife's cong...Also I heard of "Pump me up" sessions for elders in Patterson? Any "Troof"?

In the U.S. it is the year for political elections including about the new President, so I imagine that has something to do with the frequent mentionings you speak of.  I had thought the special training sessions for all U.S. elders had already taken place but you must be right since there's been no news about them posted here yet.  I doubt they are just for "pumping up" or motivating, but possibly some of that mixed with revised training on handling child abuse so as to protect Don Adams, Ted Jaracz and the rest of their cronies from having to sit in court.

MoxieRe: Political references from the Podium? / Patterson pump me up

Lately I haven't been paying too much attention to the political news in the States (i'm up here in Canada), but do you think it could be possible that the witnesses are talking a lot about political neutrality because of the potential for a US draft?  I have heard mumblings about it here and there... can someone tell me if a draft is a likely scenario or just a bunch of nonsense.

Thanks :)

Well since we lived in 8 years of Bush hell and the fact that may have our first Black or woman president – I’m not surprised that it’s a hot topic, even among the JWs; so the elders have to keep them in check, lol.

I've been out for quite awhile, so this may sound like a dumb question, but I THOUGHT JWs WERE ALLOWED TO VOTE NOW.  Am I wrong?

Okay, got it right this time!  Woo hoo!

So, seriously, I thought JWs were allowed to vote now, since some time in the 1990's.  Not so?
