TerryRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....

Let's tackle this problem with a different tool box than we've been using up till now in this discussion, okay?

Let's talk about values.

TWO KINDS OF LIFE are open to everybody.

1.Learn the way things actually work and master the rules. Educate and apply your knowledge. Excel and improve as a result of your efforts. Plan for the days ahead and lay a foundation for your children and family.

OR...

2.Join a group and BE TOLD you have a purpose, you are valuable and you have a bright hope for the future IF you do as you ARE TOLD.

Step one is hard work and requires intelligence, effort and dilligence.

Step two allows you to remain stupid and survive while THINKING you are way ahead of the smart people!

If people carry around wrong ideas about how the world works they frequently bump into real world conflicts that test their wrong ideas. It is a dash of cold water in the face at the least and a life threatening crises at worst.

It is hard to be stupid and yet survive at a level of daily life that isn't swarming with countless problems.

Ignorant people, for example, have a bad diet that distorts their health and appearance. (Their ideas about what to eat are proven wrong by the outcome of actually eating unhealthy food and suffering the consequencs.)

HERE IS WHERE THE GROUP DYNAMIC comes in to play.

Groups tend to surround vulnerable people with a sense of well-being, a sense of purpose and a strong hope for the future.

(Weight Watchers and Alcoholics Anonymous)

A religious group like Jehovah's Witnesses can be a placebo for losers.

While seeming to provide the means for improving your life, you are smothered by rules and policies that make it UNNECESSARY for you ever to have to THINK and REASON things out on your own.

Almost all religions start out with a delusional genius. Because of their intelligence, charisma and ability to spin, twist and explain--they achieve a following.

C.T.Russell was such a genius. His writings were clearly presented as BETTER at teaching God's plan than the Bible itself. He pulled together various crackpot ideas and hoakum into a semblance of pure teaching.

He pinned the hopes of the group on End Times predictions and kept enthusiasm alive through fear and hope.

He was followed by a brutish lout who was a contrarian--yet--who possessed legal skills and an intelligent grasp of how to pit one group of people against another. Judge Rutherford attracted blue-collar, honest-hearted ignoramuses who learned to thumb their noses at mainstream religion, government and education.

Rutherford couldn't sustain the End Times carrot and stick. So, he changed the religion into contrarian naysayers who mocked mainstream religious life and filled the members with a superiority complex of crackpot apologia.

What about us?

EACH OF US was attracted to this religion because we were smart enough to be stupid!

We were enticed by our own FALSE SENSE of how the world works. We were persuaded we could be a part of a group that would:

1.Give us the most important work in the universe to do that filled our life with purpose.

2.Give us the most profound understanding of the hardest book ever written (the Bible) and be able to defeat anybody in argument.

3.Give us comforting reassurance that every bad thing that happens in this world is moving us forward toward A REWARD!

This seduction works at the top as well as at the bottom.

There is NOTHING left which is not presented as already UNDERSTOOD and tied up with a red ribbon of absolute certainty!

It is a pyramid scheme that requires sucking in huge numbers to sustain it (while spitting out the losers on the other side!)

The number of EX-JW's (i.e. those who KNOW BETTER and are able to speak out) are threatening the stability of the illusion now due to the Internet.

GOOD MOTIVES are illusory.

The POINT of Jehovah's Witnesses is to snuggle together and have our ignorant egos stroked that we are important as long as we obey.

At the top, the motive and the point is to keep the top spinning despite the inertian of contrary evidence.

A cult is a zero sum game for the individual member.

If you don't end up disfellowshipped, you end up disillusioned and broken and bitter. But, you can't speak out!

That is why our work to SPEAK OUT as Apostate ex-members is so vital!

still wonderingRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....

This could be one line of research that may yield an answer.

Since the WTS shares are not publically traded then the current shareholders (those that attend the annual shareholder meeting) inherited their shares from family members long since dead. Is it likely that many of those that have inherited their shares are no longer JW’s themselves and so why would they take the trouble and expense to travel every year to the shareholders meeting if there was nothing in it for them? Does anyone know if a dividend is paid? How can one find out?

R.CrusoeRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....

I thought Eckharts you tube talk on pain bodies was interesting! He refers to ones in society at large. Maybe you can see parallels with how the WT feed disaster and pain to followers in the link below?

It's about how we all aquire, from childhood, attachments to our true self which bully and supress it (our true self is restricted by things which instill fears and guilts in us which stop us being ourselves). He calls these attachments pain bodies and egos.

Pain bodies love to feel hurt, humiliated, depressed, traumatised etc in preoccupying the real self from its presence - enjoying the NOW.

Egos thrive and seek other attentions and react to negatives.

It struck me how the WT have built up a giant pain body in each follower which oppressess and condemns the true self into submission.

It also struck me how they build up egos in leaders, to accompany their well developed 'pain bodies' which thrive on their role and suppress their true caring self enabling them to inflict guilt and fear on the pain bodies of followers.

The GB and other high rankers know their history just like we do. Their motives are evil because inspite of

this they continue to perpetuate untruth. If they were sincere about what they are doing, they would be open

to the questions and serious concerns expressed to them, instead of using the hammer of authority to quell

anything remotely similar to dissent in their eyes. They are on a power trip.

Their contridictions and double standards are too blantant to give them

the benefit of the doubt. Many of us have learned the hard way that the lack of love and abuse of authority seen

on the local level is the result of the example set on the higher levels. Thus a trickle down effect. Many of us

have called Brooklyn and recieved rude, unloving treatment because we asked the wrong questions or didn't

allow our intelligence to be insulted by accepting a BS answer. Many of us have had discussions with die-hard JW's

and realize that the truth (meaning the opposite of a lie) doesn't matter to them. A sincere lover of truth has the

courage to damn the consequences and stand up for what is right.

yadda yadda 2Re: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....
I think they do have good motives and they are sincere, but the trouble is they are deluded and brainwashed by many of their own false teachings and concepts. They are captives of the castle in the air that Joseph Rutherford and Fred Franz built. They have good motives and believe they are benefitting millions of people within their own fantasy bubble worldview they live in.

greendawnRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....
I weigh more on the side that they are evil by design and not by sheer incompetence. Everything else, claiming they really believe that what they do is any way beneficial is simply hypocritical, they can't be practising deception of such depth and cunning without knowing it is harming people. They simply pretend that they believe it does not.

In case they believe in obviously faulty ideas there has been a word for it for a long time and that word is pharisaism. The lies of this cult are very numerous and well crafted. Why do they not just back down to liberate a lot of people from mental oppression?

TheListenerRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....

The WT is a non-profit organization and typically non-profit organizations cannot pay dividends.

They believe it.  They may know they have some things wrong but in general they believe it.

The question really is: who will begin to disbelieve first, the top or the bottom of the pyramid?  And what will the results be from that disbelief?

parlayRe: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....

If they believe it, it's only because they refuse to and/or see no reason to research their own beliefs. Rather

like most JW's they have taken everything for granted, and sacrifice all questions they might have upon the alter of

"new light" to come. Hyprocrisy and double standards, suppression and altering of information (willful deception),

dictatorship-like authoritarianism and abuse of power is not fertile soil for sincerity, honesty and candor.

Applying to them the same standards they use to adversely judge other religions clearly shows that they

are far from sincerely misguided.

greendawnRe: Re: If the G.B. and WTS don't have good motives, what is the point.....
Still no, they don't believe that what they do is right except in a pharisaic way. Where are the acts of kindness, the assistance to loyal JWs going through adversities or the spirit of love and humility?

They being according to their own declarations saints and pillars of the truth that were chosen by god as the elite of all the elite and given the top positions in his organisation on earth, are not really delivering the goods.

Yes. There is a higher power behind the Tower...and it ain't "god".
The GB are puppets taking orders.
Too many people have started to peek behind that curtain. That's why it's time for the curtain to fall.

Mightyone asks:
I have read old information about the mason, illuminati and so forth, is there any concrete link today?

 My reply:
Of course. The founder of the tower was a Knights Templar and the Society was bankrolled with Rothschild money. The founder of Mormonism was also involved in Freemasonry. I think before it's all over, we will find that every religion and religious movement has its origin in Freemasonry. (except for maybe Scientology. That group has an association with Stanford Research Institute mind control experiments.)

 My reply:
This is where the sheep and the goats are beginning to separate. It is a choice every one must make on an individual basis. You can't continue on in this org and then say you hold the GB responsible. That's kind of what Adam said...blaming it on someone else. That won't work. You have a choice. It may be costly for many, but Jesus warned that standing for the PEARL of TRUTH comes at a great price. It is the time, RIGHT NOW, to make decisions. Do you stand for truth or will you continue on in a lie? The sheep and goat are now entering their respective quarters.

The Witchtower is so QUICK and eager to claim the Roman Catholic Heirarchy are doing what they do out of evil motives love of money, love of power and love of prestige.Having associated with this organization for over 40 years, I know this is how they view the RC.

Yet they are selling the Brooklyn properties, which will probably net them almost a cool BILLION.  Not one penny of which will really go to help the elderly bethelites they threw out.

They make decisions on peoples lives and beliefs for no better reason than they can.  Look at the GB mamber who said the brothers shouldn't have too much freedom or they will just watch more TV!! The votes on blood and non-combatant service shows they view the R£F as pawns in what they see as a great invisible war between them and "false religion."

They travel around the world giving talks at A$$emblies where they are feted and treated like demigods. Yet they criticize the Pope for giving a ring to the poor in a latin american country when he visited.  How many millions of the congregations money did they spend on VENETIAN, not American cut glass for the NY A$$embly Hall?

The simple fact that the men at the top sling these accusations around at every other religion on the planet proves they are like that.

"What thou SEEST that thou BEEST."

Indeed from all the antiBabylon Hype one would think that people only cling to other faiths to avoid becoming Jehovahs Witlesses.

And note that when the RC changed certain teachings they realized were wrong, the WT was quick to jeer "HAHAHAHA" they don't know what to believe, and questioned THEIR motives.

Maybe the other Churches oppose the WT because they want to PROTECT their flock from being "Kidnapped" by them. (by the way the WTsays non-believers want to kidnap their children into other faiths, too.)
